When synoptic forcing is weak and storm formation trigger is entirely sea breeze dominated we are in a bit of a hole. The interior gets the best coverage where the east and west coast breezes occur. We get double dry whammy in middle Merritt Island and east Rockledge because the concave coastline creates a divergent sea breeze. Drove me crazy when I moved here and I'd see the storms from Port St. John on north. Always seemed to form around us. Well it is the shape of the coast. Have to have the synoptic pattern pin the seabreeze to the coast or blow the inland convection back to us to get rain.
