Short version: he seems like a good guy and definitely knows his stuff. Gave me a quote today and going to install my new valve tomorrow.
Scott came out and took a look today. I had a cracked pipe leading into a valve, he first checked whether it was something he could repair but unfortunately that section of pipe had been repaired already (2 inch pipe had been cut and a 1.5 inch coupling glued inside) so I need a new valve installed. I have a close friend in Orlando that does pools and he had confirmed everything Scott told me via pictures I sent so that made me feel better, and when I mentioned this to Scott he said that since it wasn't a really simple/cheap fix he wouldn't get his feelings hurt if I wanted to wait on my friend to come out and do it to save the money. I appreciated that but Scott will be installing the valve tomorrow. My friend also confirmed that the prices we discussed for parts and labor were reasonable. Will report back after the work is done tomorrow. |
