I'm not sure anyone is dead set on everyone paying more for healthcare. It comes down to whether or not we want the government in charge of managing our healthcare and being able to decide who gets treated. How many people do you hear raving about the service they receive at VA clinics around the country? ----- At least one. If you are looking for customer service and efficiency, are you going to ship something using FedEx, UPS, or the USPS? --- USPS is competitive, often cheaper Look at the advancements SpaceX and others have made in our space program in the short time they have been involved. -- a perfect example of how smart government spending can spur industry If you want the healthcare industry to be agile and innovative then keep it private and encourage competition. -- wrong, there is little competition now, little choice. 1) -- it will be the same damn doctor and nurses, 2) why would the fact that their paycheck comes from one place or another mean they suddenly turn to shit people? 1) No...in fact it wont! 2) Only the worst ones will stay as they figure that any paycheck is better than no paycheck! The best ones will leave! There will be no more competition for 'who is the best'...or most innovative.... as the best get paid THE MOST (now)! I'm not too excited about being the World's Police, and would rather have it any other way but, what are we to do? Let the Taliban have Afghanistan. Let who-ever rape and pillage in Yemen? Let the BooBoo's kill off all the MooMoos in Nigeria?, etc. If we don't do it, who will? And, if nothing else we must STOP being the World's "Corporate Defenders". Reduce our military presence around the world and make it very clear that if ANYBODY F's with us will kill them to a man and drive their wives and children before us. We controlled a large swath of Syria with 38 soldiers; far less violence, people living a regular life, no Russians and no Syrian government troops. Now it is fucking chaos and we have no say in the matter. We get the last say throughout a large part of the world because we hold control through soft power. How Trump and his voters don't see this as a positive for all involved is beyond me??
