"Allow only catch-and-release fishing for redfish in the Indian River Lagoon region."
The region looks like it's from Oak Hill to Jupiter or so. ------------------------- "Are you a Communist?" "No I am an anti-fascist." "For a long time?" "Since I have understood fascism." -Protagonist Robert Jordan, "For Whom the Bell Tolls" (Hemmingway) |

I dig it, but it is a shame as I feel it may takes the spotlight off why the redfish are in decline(along with all the other pieces of the lagoon system) which is pollution.

FWC doesn't do pollution. Pollution is DEP jurisdiction and if FWC gets too uppity about pollution then it gets angry phone calls from both the Governor and Legislature telling FWC to stay in its lane or else.

It must be serious if the state bothered to get involved. Lack of sea grass for spawning I imagine and a lack of food.

I wonder if this includes Sebastian Inlet, and if so, the entire inlet? I would think east of the bridge would be considered the ocean.

The way it looked to me on the map, it seemed that the IRL "region" included the ocean. I was wondering if this meant no taking of redfish anywhere in the region (lagoon, inlet, ocean). Maybe not?
