I've been seeing a some "FJB" graffiti scrawled on gas pumps. It means "Friends of Joe Biden" written by folks grateful that gas prices are down.

Capitalism is based on the ridiculous notion that you can enjoy limitless growth in a closed, finite system.

In biology, such behavior of cells is called "cancer".

Scom - Have a strong hunch that they are not 'Made in the USA'.

Supply chain problems due to 'who' now? Supply/Demand - and related labor issues..

Who chose to 'not make enough' outboards? Prob CEO's and bean counters in some far away country etc to meet expected reduced demand => too much 'supply' - and limited labor - all due to cove..

Lots of people all at once feeling comfortable to 'get back on the water' and also buy new motors with the $ that they saved up staying at home for so long => Demand up - but nothing in 'stock' .. >P>A 'stretch' at best.. It's real 'complicated'.. Thank Joe for all of that? or qrump? I guess you get to 'decide' and assign 'blame' or 'credit' as you see fit...

I'll chose to 'blame' - 'cove'..

In regard to "Inflation":

U.S. Bureau of Statistics

PRODUCER PRICE INDEXES - JULY 2022

The Producer Price Index for final demand fell 0.5 percent in July, seasonally adjusted, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. This decline followed advances of 1.0 percent in June and 0.8 percent in May. (See table A.) On an unadjusted basis, final demand prices moved up 9.8 percent for the 12 months ended in July.

In July, the decrease in the index for final demand is attributable to a 1.8-percent decline in prices for final demand goods. In contrast, the index for final demand services advanced 0.1 percent.

Prices for final demand less foods, energy, and trade services moved up 0.2 percent in July following a 0.3-percent rise in June. For the 12 months ended in July, the index for final demand less foods, energy, and trade services increased 5.8 percent.

So, , , , , in regard to "Supply Chain Problems", , , , ,

Sure, it's easy to say 'Lets Go' but, in many cases the pandemic caused a complete Stop Work at lots of manufacturers. When demand ramped up as fast as it did, it could take a couple months just to get critical personnel back into place and only then be in a position to actually begin to re-start "the plant". Sales Orders and their scheduling would be one thing but, where are the required materials and parts going to come from? Let's say we want to buy the parts to build an engine or, purchase the materials needed to fabricate parts in-house? Just the castings needed for the engine and transmission could be lots more than 6 months ARO. Then a couple more months to turn the first castings into function items.

"Stop Work Orders" suck, been there and done that.

Bird flu outbreak ravages poultry farms across U.S.

Sat, August 13, 2022, 6:50 PM

Poultry farms across the U.S. are scrambling to contain a new, highly contagious avian flu. The outbreak has contributed to a 47% increase in the price of eggs at grocery stores in July compared to a year ago. John Ramos has more.

Not sure who to blame. Not Biden, probably not Trump. Might as well blame Obama. Okay?
