But less so than the evils of other systems, such as communism and socialism. MLK was like all of us; he was right about some things and wrong about others. Economics were not his expertise.

Oh, BS!

Corporations saw opportunity in the pandemic.

Reduced packaging size, raised the price.

Look at corporate profits.

They are literally profiting from creating artificial inflationary numbers.

Indeed they did. That is their raison d'etre. Of course they got their share of the money Biden and his fellow dems dumped on the country. The money dump caused the inflation, however. Corporations can't cause inflation unless they are a monopoly, which most are not. Those that are didn't need the pandemic to raise prices.

A monopoly run by 11 companies who control virtually everything we buy:

With 11 billion-dollar consumer good and food companies controlling over 400 major brands, we may not have that many choices - but we certainly have the illusion of them.

https://capitaloneshopping.com...verything-904b28425120

Despite the amount of choices in the consumer market, several big companies own a large majority of major brands, effectively controlling everything you buy.

One conference call with 11 participants.

Easily done.

Then the leftwing propaganda ministry run by the 6 participants that own the entire United States media (monopoly) could be wrangled in the same way?!

Good point.

When is that happening?

"How many companies own the media outlets?
But while it may seem like you have limitless options, most of the media you consume is owned by one of six companies. These six media companies are known as The Big 6. While independent media outlets still exist, the major outlets are almost all owned by these six conglomerates."

"Does the Federal Reserve print money out of thin air?
The Fed can indeed create money "out of thin air." To be more precise, it does so with keystrokes on a computer. This was illustrated with its QE program, also known as open market operations. That's when the Fed buys an asset from a financial institution and pays for it with money it simply creates."

Socialism is an economic system where infrastructure and resources are held in common for the good of society, rather than allowed to be hoarded and made artificially scarce in order to generate profits for the few. Nothing evil about that.

Capitalism (with respect to any essential good or service) is immoral.

I ran into MLK once in the Atlanta airport. Was about 6 at the time and running around like a 6y/o and bumped into him. He didn't whip my ass or anything so I always thought he was an alright guy. My parents, however, got cross with me for misbehaving and running into a famous person. Had to have been around 1963. My brush with fame.

Back in those days that is what grownups would do to little kids. Perfectly acceptable too. That's why I thought he was ok. My gripe was with my parents. Don't remember anything about it other than my parents telling me he was famous and, upon further questioning, telling me it was Martin Luther King.

In Socialism, the government spends everybody's money (poor and rich) until all the money is gone and everybody is broke.

If you want socialism you should move to Venezuela. Socialism has destroyed the county and every body is moving out. I met 3 surfers from Venezuela in Sat Bch one day that are living in South Florida now and they told me how bad it is. They had to get out.
From Wikipedia:
The 2013 Venezuelan presidential election was widely disputed leading to widespread protest, which triggered another nationwide crisis that continues to this day.[17]

Venezuela is a developing country and ranks 113th on the Human Development Index. It has the world's largest known oil reserves and has been one of the world's leading exporters of oil. Previously, the country was an underdeveloped exporter of agricultural commodities such as coffee and cocoa, but oil quickly came to dominate exports and government revenues. The excesses and poor policies of the incumbent government led to the collapse of Venezuela's entire economy.[18][19] The country struggles with record hyperinflation,[20][21] shortages of basic goods,[22] unemployment,[23] poverty,[24] disease, high child mortality, malnutrition, severe crime and corruption. These factors have precipitated the Venezuelan migrant crisis where more than three million people have fled the country.[25] By 2017, Venezuela was declared to be in default regarding debt payments by credit rating agencies.[26][27] The crisis in Venezuela has contributed to a rapidly deteriorating human rights situation, including increased abuses such as torture, arbitrary imprisonment, extrajudicial killings and attacks on human rights advocates.

Capitalism is fine Russki with a moral compass. Qotards support one of the more lying shitty capitalists to waddle west palm golf courses.

Surfrc, you fail to mention that Venezuela also suffers from an authoritarian regime. This is the problem with most countries that use socialist or communist systems. Look at Nordic countries. It's working pretty well there. Other countries to look at, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, and Ireland amongst some others.

HAP,
If the Dems were ever able to change the voting rules, like they are trying, that would be the end of a two party system. The Dems would rule from then on out. The Reps party would be gone. At the point we would then be under a authoritarian regime with the radical lefts continuing to destroy our county.

So you are in favor of less rights for voting. Got it. If your party can't win on a fair ballfield then maybe it's time to rethink they are doing. Authoritarians disable voting rights, not give more power to voters. You're an idiot.

I am not for less voting rights. I am for keeping the voting system the same (run by the states), such as requiring the voter to provide an identification and to be a US citizen.

One is far closer than you think, and it's not the Dems. By gerrymandering they already control far more state representation than their voters should account for. That's done by carving up majority Dem areas so that they are moved into minority positions in geographically bizarre shaped districts.

Also, if they had the state power that they are giving themselves today in 2020, they would have used false claims of vote fraud to throw out the popular vote of their states and send a slate of electors chosen by the GOP state legislature, and the US Constitution doesn't prevent it.

Your right to own a gun is far more constitutionally sacred in the USA than your tenuous right to vote for president. We've just always taken it for granted that neither of the parties would go full dictator.

He grew increasingly vocal and critical of the Vietnam war and economic injustice, and formed a multiracial coalition against poverty. Definitely not anything like today's Republican party that worships corporate greed and a narcissistic sociopath.

The irony is that the Republicans in plain site are arranging it so that states controlled by the GOP can over rule their own popular elections. RC is worried about the Dems taking over? The Dems can't tie their own shoe laces. The Pugs on the other hand are about to become rulers of the one party state that they convince simple folks like RC that the Dems are creating. I think we've seen the last "fair" election in this country for the foreseeable future.

And that voting is far more difficult for urban and low income citizens, by design, and Republicans are still working hard at passing new rules to worsen that.

Republicans are looking to change the system by putting partisan yes people into decision making positions. They are openly looking to override the will of the people. Every state should be required to have a paper trail, that's just common sense.

RC, do you think Trump's pressure to override the decision of the people was right? Do you see threats to the sitting Vice President as legitimate? Do you think Biden won by fraud, even though there is ZERO evidence? If you do, you are the real problem here.
