Well...owners have to continue to pay taxes, maintenance and repairs.

They have no recourse...no moratorium...no relief!

AND...it's been that way for a year and a half!

It is THEIR property.

Did you ever consider that?

Who is going to pay THOSE bills?

YOU?

FUCK NO!

Demoshits don't consider the rights of owners...just how much they can SCREW them!

-------------------------
The REAL truth is....both of the forum idiots are OWNED.
-BOTH of them have no clue who their owner is.
-They are both card carrying narcissists.
^These are PROVED facts.

Perhaps up to 6 million people in north America are going to face eviction in the next few months.

I believe Florida has received Federal funds for this but they have not been distributed?

Only 2% distributed from $870 million. Florida government is actively trying to make conditions as hard as possible on the poor so they will return to hellish low paying service jobs.

A direct consequence of progs shutting down their states. The evicted need to learn the lesson and vote these incompetent profiteers out of office.

There is no need to extend such a program any longer - jobs are plentiful, wages are increasing across the board, and anyone taken down by covid at this point likely made the nonsensical and selfish decision to not get vaccinated - why should the gov't or tax payers pay for stupidity. The Supreme Court got it right that it needs an act of congress - just as DeSantis' brainless executive orders should be invalid. At least the idiotic stimulus payments didn't directly target and cripple housing providers running on tight margins.

Millions are behind on rent and can't afford a lump sum payoff. Women and children will be out on the street, and that's America folks.

At least when the Chinese take over they know how to deal with landlords.

A direct consequence of Conservitard Governors sitting on federal dollars sent to states to specifically help.

No, they dump the money in general funds and office remodeling and golf trips.

Republicans won't give the money to those who need it and Republicans in the House blocked the legislation, then AOC blames Democrats and people like Rusty spread it all over the internet.

And people wonder why terrible Republican candidates keep winning elections?

The government cannot legally seize people's real estate for this purpose or force them to allow people to live in a landlord's house rent-free and expect the landlords to pay for the upkeep.

A lot of people think politicians are elected because they are intelligent when in reality most of the time they are just people who speak well in front of crowds, know how to kiss ass really well, and know whose ass they need to kiss.

We should have discontinued paying people not to work 1-3 months before we ended the eviction moratorium ended. Then we should have phased in the amount that the tenants were required to pay for the first 4-6 months. Month one, pay 20% of rent, month two pay 40%, while ensuring they could stay as long as they were meeting the phased in numbers. The idiots in government had zero plan as to how this was going to roll out.

Personally, I think Democrats will find a way to put more lockdowns into fast forward so they can justify continuing to pay people not to work and extending the moratorium on evictions. This entire situation creates a BIG problem for them and they are going to do everything possible to kick the can down the road. Democrats have found power they didn't have before and it will be near impossible to prevent them from using it over and over again. We may never go back to life as it was before the pandemic if the Democrats have no incentive to do so. We will see variant after variant hyped to the extreme and even if deaths are low, cases will be hyped or some other bullshit will.

Go back to the way it was? You mean a failing economy and hundreds of thousand dying from the pandemic?

Pandemic hype? Are Democrats really filling the hospitals with sick people?

Republicans win primarily due to dumb voters like yourself. Rusty, at least was in favor of a candidate who still has his wits about him. You and your foolish horde voted in an incompetent, corrupt man who is senile to boot. Needless to say, such a person is going to screw up things, which he has. So normal voters will, of course, look to the other party nexdt chance they get.

Prior to Covid-19 escaping the Wuhan Lab of Virology in China, we had the strongest economy this country had ever seen. Yet, Democrats blame Trump for everything that went wrong and don't hold China accountable for shit - LMFAO

The pre-pandemic economy under Trump was a continuation of the boom that started in 2014 or so. The growth rate across the board was right on track with the prior administration. No embellishment or obfuscation needed, it is right there for anyone to see that chooses to look at the actual numbers rather than partisan propaganda. Trump gets blamed for wrecking the economy because he is absolutely responsible for wrecking it. He took a gamble and lost with his gross management of the pandemic. He literally chose to try and save the economy at the expense of American lives and ended up killing people and our economy.

A wise man would have told people to take it seriously and would have preached to his faithful to take any/all protective measures. A smart man would have approached the situation with data, facts, and confidence instead of personally spreading misinformation and conspiracy. A man who wasn't a textbok example of an extreme narcissist would have put the welfare of our nation over his personal goals. A capable man would have tried to find a balance between keeping the economy going and saving lives.

Trump failed across the board and THAT is why I blame him.

Yup, it's this simple. Now Biden has the economy back on track. R's always fuck the economy, D's always fix it.

Oh, of course! How could we ever forget the encouraging words from Obama regarding the "new normal" of stagnation and being stuck in shitty jobs. Or when we were told that "those jobs aren't coming back" but then Trump brought hundreds of thousands of them back. Or when Trump announced his goals for economic growth and Obama asked him if he thought he had a magic wand but then Trump exceeded them. Or when under Trump minorities and people with disabilities saw the lowest unemployment in recorded in close to 100 years.

Under trump:
We were energy independent
Immigration at the southern border was under control
Pre-pandemic unemployment under 4% (lowest in over 50 years)
Pre-pandemic inflation was less than 1%
Number of people who fell below the poverty line was the lowest in recorded history
Median household income increased by over $5,000

Big whoop. GDP was soft. Growth was flat. The ill fought trade war hurt the steel industry and farmers.

Median household income increased by over $5,000.

However, income remained flat among Black and Hispanic Americans. Regardless, the sluggish response to the Pandemic and the shift from a federal response in April to a state response wiped out any gains.

Put your pom-poms down.

T'rump totally botched the Coronavirus and, had he done a good job, he likely would have been re-elected. As it stands today, he is a one-term president who will be regaled as a narcissisistic authoritarian.

I don't know why Conservitards are upset about Biden/Pelosi. Let's take a look at what has not happened - in addition to No Moratorium on Evictions.

. No minimum wage hike
. No court expansion
. No Medicare for all
. No student debt relief
. No filibuster reform
. No federal investigation of T'rump

Conservitards should be standing & cheering because the Progressive Wing of the Democratic Party has been silenced. Biden/Pelosi have shown DC what they are, solidly in the center.

Well the Biden admin managed to twist the arm of the CDC to avoid the scrutiny for being caught with their pants down on the eviction moratorium.

The right wing court will probably throw it out, so we'll have to see how an epidemic of eviction and homelessness in the setting of a pandemic affects the economy.

Tough to get to that Disney housekeeping job when you live in a shelter. The future in non-living wage places like Florida is going to be "workers dormitories" (previously know as servants' quarters).

And as far as landlords go, everyone wants to imagine the landlord as the simple working guy who fixed a place up to rent out. The reality is that corporations like Black Rock are out to purchase as much of the available single living space as possible, and rent it back to the people who in previous generations would have been able to by it and enjoy the accumulation of equity. Marx predicted all this.

As she should, the Dems were completely irresponsible to not have any plan and then expect Congress was going to act before going home for vacations.

This latest stunt is more of a face saving move, and is unlikely to prevent mass evictions. As noted already, homeless people can't vote.

I still think the Democrats will force some kind of lockdowns in order to justify extending the eviction moratorium, even though most of them don't want to. I would be absolutely amazed if the Democrats allow this to happen, knowing the kind of political fallout it will cause. But then again, I was amazed that they just thought if they ignored this that it would go away or that no one would notice. Everyone knew this was coming and they waited until the very last minute to even discuss it.

Horseshit, there was a final date and congress knew all about it. They also knew the blow dealt by the SCOTUS, not to mention that is was Joe who actually did something and is the one who will have to deal with the consequences.

Exactly, at the moment the Dems control Congress and the White House, but they did nothing and took off on holiday. When the backlash came they punted to the CDC knowing that's a long shot.

But you are correct that Biden and the Dems will have to deal with the consequences.

They basically have folded on all campaign issues and are focused only on a watered down infrastructure bill.

Rusty: If you're cool with women and children living in the woods that's on you chump. One time you'll have to settle accounts with karma.

Yeah, they shouldn't have to live in the woods when the sidewalks and parks are available for them to set up tent cities...
We're all good with San Fran and Los Angeles people camping on sidewalks, that is their God given rights and their choice

Shouldn't this be a states rights issue where one states policies lead to mass homelessness and we don't care??
Shouldn't states have the right to regulate homelessness in their states?
Florida can say, if you don't pay the rent you can be evicted and you don't have to live in the woods, you can go to California where housing is free...

Maybe t should be "retreived" and redistributed to Dem states that are distributing it.. Like them apples? Yummm yummmm !!!!!!!!

It's called a starting point. Or should everybody start off Executive Director, Principal, or hold out on tax payer $ until the perfect job comes along?

Personally I've had to start over several times in my life. Sometimes through my own fault other times just getting the short end of the stick. It's part of life and we move on as responsible people.

You didn't start over at $10 an hour. You either had good paying work, or you had help.

Turning possibly millions of people out into the street during a pandemic makes this place look even more like a 3rd world country. It will have consequences.

No. I started at 3.15 + tips (server at Chilis), + 12.00/hr (Albertsons distribution center) + 10/hr mowing lawns on the weekend

While going to college and doing an internship.

If you want sympathy it's between Shit and syphilis in the dictionary.

I was 11 in '83, but what does that matter? If they choose homelessness over working, like the rest of us, I'm fine with that, but their kids should be taken away. Hell even as recently as 2 years ago I worked a full time job, worked part time for a friend's moving company and went to grad school ( at my old ass age)...

You made it same as I did, when it was cheaper to go to college, rents in FL were cheap, and you could buy a house and accumulate equity. People facing eviction are not choosing homelessness, it's being thrust upon them by economic and material circumstances.

You guys are the same old "I got mine, you get yours" types.

And Curtis you sure those kids are yours?

This has nothing to do with jobs. A job that doesn't pay enough to cover food and rent isn't worth a damn.

Yeah. You're operating at a FishFucker level right now.

Everyone knows that the average American has zero in their savings account: 45%

>$1,000 = 25%

$5k to $9,900 = 5%

So, 75% of America doesn't save.

How can you go to work if your daycare is shut down? You have to quarantine? You just get - yet - another job.

If you bring Rusty the dictionary and pay him $15 for the hour it takes to find it, he might actually read it.

My kids are left of center; not surprising for their age. One is much farther left than the other. But they're both working their ass off and able to take care of themselves, aside from health insurance. We still have a lot of room for improvement there.

Of all the people I've seen panhandling in Brevard, only one was out there with a shovel in his hand and a sign that said, "Need work."

Voter supression in yet another form.. The rep's definitely know how to stack the deck in their favor.. How the fuck is a displaced or homeless person going to vote when they don't have an address to get a voter ID, or polling locatoin to vote at.. Definitely sounds like a Civil Rights issue to me.. Normally this would be an issue for SCOTUS - except that we know how that will go .. The displaced and homeless should be able to walk into ANY polling location and vote. Need to able to bus them all into all the R strongholds and let their voices be heard - but the legacy of defacto slavery continues.. Gotta love that 'original sin'...
