Black Lives Matter Rioters Destroy Ronald McDonald House With Sick Children Inside

In a sick and twisted event, Rioters in Chicago have destroyed a Ronald McDonald House with sick children inside. Mirror reports that there were 30 families with sick children who were locked inside, frightened that the protesters might hurt them.

Windows of the building were destroyed and the doors needed to be boarded up to protect the sick children and their families. The building was targeted by looters, and the Chicago Police Department has released multiple statements of arrest since the incident.

Ronald McDonald House Charities' Lisa Mitchell gave a statement concerning the event:

"[We were] very concerned there was a lot of activity right in front of the house, people making choices that could put them at risk and put our families at risk so the staff was frightened.

They are already in a really, really difficult spot, and having this kind of additional stress and worry about getting to and from the hospital even-though we are 5 blocks away because of safety concerns is just doubling the strain."

According to ABC7 Chicago, thousands of looters were loose on the streets destroying property and stealing from stores.

Newly released surveillance video captured hundreds of looters smashing windows, breaking into businesses and stealing just about anything they could get their hands on in downtown Chicago.

It all happened overnight Sunday when a social media post urged looters to converge on downtown. The call to action followed a police involved shooting on Chicago's Southside.

"This was just an attack on our city," stated Chief Brendan Dennihan. "We really need everyone's help to identify these offenders so we can arrest and charge them."



More than 100 suspects have already been arrested and are facing felony charges.

The Chicago Police Department has created a task force to pursue all the suspects involved in the crimes. They've also created the website to post videos of the crimes and mugshots of some of the suspects.

"Camera footage is only valuable when our officers and detectives can identify individuals caught on camera committing the crime," Dennihan explained. "We need everyone's help to do this."

Business owners like Scott Shapiro, who owns a menswear shop that was looted four times, have expressed they don't feel safe anymore.

"I frankly don't know how we're going to continue to survive if we keep having incidents," he said.

According to authorities, the cases are easier to solve when the community identifies these suspects and works with the police to hold them accountable.

"Looking at these videos, someone surely knows the offenders that are causing this destruction," added Dennihan. "Please help us bring these criminals to justice."

A Ronald McDonald House in Chicago, where families of hospitalized children stay, was targeted by looters overnight Sunday, according to reports.

Looters smashed windows while families slept at the house, which is near Lurie Children's Hosptial. The building was briefly placed on the lockdown, according to WBBM-TV.

More than 30 families were inside the house during the looting, according to WLS-TV.

Thousands participated in widespread looting and vandalism in downtown Chicago early Monday morning sparked by an officer-involved shooting of a man who reportedly opened fire on police.

"We're here for families at all times - whether there's a pandemic or civil unrest, we need to make sure that we are here allowing families to get the rest they need while they have a child in the hospital seeking care, and so it's so important that anything that might be going on outside, we maintain our care for families," Mitchell told WBBM.

More than 100 were arrested and 13 officers were injured in the melee that caused millions of dollars of damage.

A security guard and another person were shot and hospitalized in critical condition, FOX 32 in Chicago reported.

"This was straight-up felony criminal conduct," Mayor Lori Lightfoot, who has restricted nighttime access to downtown, said. "This was an assault on our city."
