No practical gain? Well Tpap, you're might be naive enough to think miss the very practical benefits of rewarding the conspirators to keep the other conspirators cooperating, or you might just be lying. It wasn't courage that motivated trump to commute Stone's time, it was self preservation. He's got plenty of people who have lied, cheated and stolen and he needed to send a clear message that they would not see justice as long as he's president. He doesn't have much time left so this will get more interesting as he ramps up the people that need cover.
