Miami fan here. I got season tix. First up: Domers. This is a historic rivalry. This a game that will set the tone for the season. (for both teams)
A new year is always full of optimism. I think the Beck Aquisition is stellar. The defense has been totally retooled.

The last time we got the Domers at the Rock (2017) they were crushed. Hard to expect a similar result. I predict a tight score, down to the wire with a CANE victory.

We get the gators for our 4th game, also at home.

The Canes have a tough schedule this year! Georgia Beck was a good pick up. Game manager rather than hero. It's interesting to see them top ten preseason.

UCF pulled off a last minute drive and TD to win the game last night over Jax State. 17-10. UCF had too many penalties and played poorly the first half. Score was 0-0 at half time. There was a 2 hour rain delay after the end of the 1st quarter and our starting Qb got knocked out of the game on a targeting penalty. But, the 2nd string Qb came in and played pretty good to get the win.

Jax State, new coach, totally new team since last year's C-USA Championship team. They came to play and actually should have won that game. UCF just had a little more talent at the end to snatch the upset from happening.

UCF came in as 20 point favorites and way under the total points. UCF will get better from this. First game jitters. Scott Frost called a great game. Just too many self inflicting penalties. The score should have been 30+ to 10.

Highlights:

the rankings come out today (Tuesday Sep 2). Will be interesting after this weekends shake ups.

I can't wait to see where 0-2 top ten team Notre Dame is ranked today.

Clemson who was #6/#4 on preseason poll is now 1-3 with Syracuse beating them at home.

Canes up to #2 after shaming the crocs. Thats what they get for hiring a minor league coach who still wants to call his own plays. Is there a presser today in Hog town? For me this was our biggest rival. No more, crocs won't play us again in my lifetime. Hey, it's a basketball school anyway. Now it's on to Hassie, 10/4, under the lights with Game Day.

It is incredible, the one year turn around with The Canes defense. We don't need Beck to be a Heisman candidate or a first-round pick. We got an Oline and a run game. Old school.

Why is Notre Dame ranked #9 in the current college football playoff ranking and Miami is sitting on the outside at #13?

Both teams are 8-2. Miami beat Notre Dame.

Poor BYU, sitting at 10-1, soon to be 11-1, Possibly 12-1 if they win the Big12, and with only loss to #5 Texas Tech will be left out of the playoffs.

BYU 11-2 with two losses to top team TTU. Bama 11-3. horrible loss to FSU (not even a 500 team, non ranked). Both teams lost in conf champ game by same margin.

Yet, BYU was getting the shaft in the ESPN talking head shows and they were saying a conference champ loss shouldn't affect Bama in the CFP.
