All I can say is that I disagree with most of what you are saying, obx. We could get into brass tacks with a weekend of discussion and googling, but that aside...

I know I can't change you and you should perhaps realize you can't change me. I'm an over-educated middle-aged white male who works and pays taxes and obeys the law. I read, watch, think and keep up with current events. I did not start as a liberal and as my graduate degree is in engineering I was not in school with raging philosophy majors. I slowly found my own way into my beliefs. At this stage of life I feel like I am seeing the same shit over and over; there's not much human nature that surprises me anymore. Every person is just a person and I'm allowed to find my own comfort zone no matter what others say or think. No one is qualified to instruct me on my life.

The only person who will change me at this stage is me.

Bull shit. Explain to me how giving someone preferential treatment based on color of skin or ethnicity is not "racism?"

HAP, the system literally gives you preferential treatment if you are black. You are literally given preferential treatment based on color of your skin. But you would go ape shit if we took that out of the system, wouldn't you...

You ride this moral high horse about slavery, something that ended over 150yrs ago and not one of us, much less our great grandfathers owned slaves or were slaves. None of us has been effected by it, or even participated in it.  You'll scream and call for the removal of statues, because of their relationship to slavery, but turn a blind eye to the fact Washington owned slaves. You blame the white man for slavery, but are ignorant to the fact it was a black man who was the first slave owner in this country. The amount of racism in this country pales in comparison to what it was in the 60s (well, maybe not so much anymore thanks to all of this "progress"). Now, the left has given the WSDs even more of a spotlight, and are stirring up their masses even more. Which will be met with even more violence, which you support. But, I'm the ignorant one.

We are literally watching history being removed/whitewashed, we literally have a party in place that "is always right," and any opposition is met with force. And we literally have a media/propaganda machine in full effect broadcasting narratives instead of reporting, and any reporting had a strong bias to it. The one and only dissenting news source is ridiculed, and any factual reporting done by them is delegitimizated because of the source. Now, we have an "event" that is in danger of being the catalyst, for it gives the Left a false flag to rally against (let's blame Trump! Let's blame "white privilege!" See, look at all these racists that must be stopped, and anyone who believes in historical preservation and/or opposing views is one of them....attack!!!!)

Yeah, he failed to realize whites are given preferential treatment when they are born. When's the last time Obx had a real conversation with anyone of a different color than himself? Yeah and those white babies will never be told to "get over slavery" or be affected by negative stereotypes that have be ingrained into our country that people believe them to be fact. White babies will never be labeled terrorists in their life time or be monitored more by store security than other people while shopping. White babies will not have a statistic with very poor odds to whether or not they will go to jail in their lifetime. But yeah, it's just about the blankets.
