There is energy in the universe...but it sure isn't positive. Rape, murder, greed, terrorism, lust, hate, organized religion, etc.

The idea that there is no God is insane. Nothing exploded into everything? It would be like a tornado blowing through a junkyard a billion times. Would it ever create a Boening 747? How about billions of self replicating creatures? No chance. We were designed, and it is obvious. We are all just selfish idiots.

The world sucks because of sin. We love to do whatever the heck we want with no regard for the one who made us and loves us. Occasionally we will reach out and help someone but our good is infintesimal compared to our selfishness.

Jesus was brown. Just look at a map. He looks like a Jordanian, Palestinian or Syrian...because that is where he is from. 

The KJV has nothing to do with Henry the 8th. Another King.. one named James commissioned it...and he hired 54 of the most brilliant scholars in the UK (I have read every one of their CV's), to work in groups of 5 to translate the entire New Testament and then the groups got together to hamer out the final translation. That is the way to do it. I spent many months studying this issue with the hope of finding that my NIV was acceptable. What I found was that 98.8% of all of the extant manuscript EVIDENCE supports the Textus Receptus, which is the Greek manuscript which underpins the KJV. The Evidence led me to a Bible I never wanted to read...but now I can't live without it. Believe it....or not.

Ummm, I know you're a believer, but it doesn't take much observation to come to the conclusion that either God does not exist as described in the Judeo-Christian-Islamic books OR he's a real asshole.

More likely God is a man made construct which is useful to calm fears, explain the unknown, and enforce social control.

But, wait, there's more...

As a consolation, there's decent evidence that there is a positive energy in the universe that runs through all living things, and it's possible to be in "tune" with it. It's all around us, but notably lacking on NSR sometimes.

Nevermind the old books beyond the suggestions that people should love one another. If you manifest the positive force then you ARE God. And so am I, and the birds, and the animals.

For the record, I believe that God is aware of every moment of our existence and cares deeply about each of us individually. I believe Jesus was the son of God and existed to allow us to have a relationship with Him. I'm not into debating and trying to convince people about accuracy and details. Details actually aren't necessary for me. The fact that so many discuss it and search for some meaning actually suggests our desire to figure it out. Find someone who strikes you as different and exceptionally genuine and loving, and if they are into their faith have a dialogue. I appreciate the suspicion around religion and men using religion for some really distorted purposes. I personally believe if Jesus was in the lineup with us or walking the beach or eating locally we would be blown away by His love and compassion. Shane Claiborne is an interesting author/speaker who suggests if the followers or Christ truly lived his teachings, it would be super contagious. If it sounds like I'm preaching, I'm actually not. I love my family and think they are amazing and I love to talk about them. I have a 9'6" RA What I Ride model that is all time and I love to brag on it to anyone who will listen. And, I actually believe God is alive and loves us and wants to connect with us and it has really rocked my existence so I feel selfish if I don't share that also. The whole idea of Christians not having opinions or using the things that they have learned to make informed decisions aka “judgements” is wrong and not biblical.  In John 7:24, after warning people about false teachers Jesus actually tells them to judge - but to do so righteously, and not by mere appearances. I actually wrote an article explaining what the Bible truly says on judgements vs. what pop culture thinks it says. We can’t point out false teachers and greedy liars if we don’t judge there actions. As Jesus also tells us, by their fruit you will recognize the liars. So...we are to judge the results (aka fruit) of anyone who claims to be a Christian. What the Bible tells us not to do is to judge hypocriticallly, meaning to point out someone’s sin when we are doing the exact same thing.  Because of FK’s bitter fruit...everyone dislikes him because he has zero love, compassion or kindness but loves to spew vile hatred ...I can judge that he is not a Bible believing Christian. I think you are getting off into the semantic weeds with this argument about who "Gods children" are and are not, and what that means.

I have learned that this sort of thinking does seem to be a thing with some of the American conservative Baptist traditions, a way to make themselves apart from the rest of us (such separation being the primary purpose of "religion"). I was unaware of this argument.

       One of the biggest and most popular lies that I hear people repeat over and over again nowadays is that we are all God's children. The claim that all mankind are God's children is a filthy lie of the Devil. It's just not true. The question is whether or not you believe that the Bible is God's inspired Word.

Ecumenicalists (unequal yokes between Christians and the religious unsaved), New Agers (followers of a one-world religious philosophy) and Modernists (unsaved people who masquerade as Christians) teach that everyone is a child of God, regardless of their religious beliefs or what God they have faith in. C.S. Lewis was a modernist, as was Martin Luther King Jr., and John Edward. Oprah Winfrey is a New Ager. Billy Graham is Mr. Ecumenical himself, who founded the apostate ChristianityToday magazine.

These are NOT God's children, because they are all CURSED as Galatians 1:7-9 warns for teaching ANOTHER Gospel. Galatians 1:9, "As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed." 2nd Corinthians 11:3 speaks concerning the "SIMPLICITY" that is in Christ, and verse 4 warns about false prophets who come to us introducing ANOTHER Jesus, ANOTHER spirit, or ANOTHER Gospel.

The Devil is very subtle, a master deceiver and professional liar (John 8:44). If you're a genuine born-again, Bible-believing Christian, then you know that the Catholic religion is of the Devil because they follow the TRADITIONS of men instead of keeping God's commandments (Mark 7:6-13; Matthew 7:21-23; Romans 10:3-4; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Romans 4:5-6). God is NOT impressed one bit with your own self-righteousness (Isaiah 64:6; Romans 3:20; 10:3-4).

We learn in Galatians 3:26 that we become children of God only BY FAITH IN CHRIST JESUS. Amen! So when someone tells me that we are all God's children, I quote to them the words Jesus said to Nicodemus in John 3:3, "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." "YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN" (John 3:7)!

Very few people are God's children, because hardly anyone is saved. Luke 13:23-24, "Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able."

My personal beliefs are based on what I was taught as a child, but being originally from a more multicultural society than here, Ibeleive that a one who think 'their' version is the 'one and only' God, and that all 'others' are dammed to 'hell' are loosing me.

While that is what I was 'taught', I have free will and can also think for myself. Any 'god(s)' or anyone that damns 'others' are hypocritical and undeserving.

I understand that everyone wants to stick up for their 'home team', but no one can really 'prove' anything - it's all faith and belief that you were taught (unless you think you are a god yourself).

Is there a underlying 'master race' or similar concept going on here?

What if you were born in another country where the predominant religion was Hindu, Buddhist, Muslim, Judaism, etc are you 'dammed'..

All of this talk about "Jesus" (even if he really existed or not) is a waste if we do not go back to the original Sumerian texts in regard to how "The Gods came down to Earth", created modern humans, and instructed them in the ways of "civilization" and such. Start there and a lot of "things" come into place. As best as we know, the Sumer texts are the core basis of all the "tales" incorporated into all of the World's subsequent religious writings. The "Old Testament" was absolutely nothing "new".
