Issued at 958 AM EDT Thu Apr 17 2025 - Sensitive to near critical fire weather conditions this afternoon and evening over the interior of East Central Florida. Fire sensitive conditions continue through late this week - No rain is forecast through the weekend. Next week, there is at least a low chance of a few showers - A slow warming trend is forecast through the weekend |

Much of the rest of the peninsula is even drier. I think my lawn needs to hibernate until rainy season sets in. Meanwhile, need to pressure wash the house, walkways, driveway.

There are abnormally dry to severe drought conditions over much of east central Florida. Mostly dry weather is expected to continue through late this week. A low chance (20%) of showers are forecast on Sunday; only a slightly better chance for Monday. Drought conditions are forecast to worsen.

Hold the presses: I GOT SOME RAIN OVERNIGHT!
Didn't fill up all the rain buckets but anything helps. I got woken up around 2am and it was coming in from off the ocean. This morning at 6am rain was still dripping off teh roof. It's a miracle! I just got some plants from the Brevard Tropical Fruit tree sale and needed the rain baaaad.... |
