Went out into Mosquito Lagon Last Friday. (8/23/2024)
Got the call from Capt. Bob. He said he found an area loaded with fish. I got Gert to go. So up at O-dark 30 to the Beacon 42 ramp. As usual Bob had the bait wells on his Spyder 19 loaded with the palm sized croakers. It was beautiful day. Outstanding multiple colored sunrise. The grass continues to make a return. The water is exceptionally clear. (By the way, it is not called "mosquito" lagoon for nothing.) Got out of the truck at around 630 am and was attached by the horde. Off the ramp and just off the ramp into a grass flat. Plenty of bait action. We are immediately on trout. Double hook ups for the next hour or so. Limit in 20 minutes. The "big" was 26". We start to move around just to see what's where. We encountered several reds 26-27 or so. Many jacks. A few sail cats. Lots more trout everywhere we went. Back at the ramp around noon. I gave the fish to Gert. I'm waiting for him to give me the call for dinner. Another great day on the pristine Mosquito Lagoon. ------------------------- So if you are a surfer I wish you the prosperity that allows you more time to pursue the salt water dream, and the true happiness that comes from warm water, clean waves and the companionship of your fellow surfers. If you are an internet troll just spewing bs then f off. |

It sounds like the old days. Now let's hope the healing river spreads.
