Rented a condo in NSB for xmas with the folks, went down to Bethune Park (up the road from JB's). The snook are stacked up in this cover like crazy. Yesterday didn't have any floaters but you could tell some were not going to make it through the night. Went back today and some big ones expired. Didn't have any way to check the water temp for an actual reading besides putting my hand in...it's cold. Water clarity is gin clear.

They were so thick I had a hard time getting my lure through them without getting foul hooked on almost every cast. Cool to see but not cool to see the big breeders going belly up.

Paddled around for a couple hours after getting my share of snook, saw a lot of small bait that had died and only came across a few reds that were super skittish. Nice paddle but a bit chilly.

Didn`t realize Snook were so prevalent up that far north...Making the breed stronger to the cold in the future!!..)

I have caught my share of snook in NSB but never seen so many packed together before.

They weren't that far north when we were young.

The line of snook demarcation has been Smyrna / Flagler for quite awhile.... but the general rule is that the prior winter needs to be a mild one, otherwise they don't make it up...
