I watched the NSB inlet cam. Looked like everyone who had a boat was heading out today.

Last year I went with a buddy one of the days (1st sunday?)... I had the great idea of heading SE thinking we could fish off Flagler away from the crowds. DOH! Its was an absolute asshole parade out there.... maybe I get out one of these 4 days, wont be upset if I dont. (Wouldnt mind sticking a 20+lb cow for the freezer though

There wasn't a rock outside of Sebastian inlet without a boat on it; the stiff west wind kept everyone inside. I counted 20 boats on a single spot in 100 feet of water. A true fricken zoo. To top it off, the Miss Cape tossed their anchor 500 yards from us, the boat was so packed it looked like some crazed spider from a syfy movie.

I heard the Strike Zone tournament is out of the port tomorrow and that there is a 10 grand first prize for largest Genuine. To say it will be a zoo is a wild understatement.

It was tough at first with the millions of boats, but all those came in within 45 minutes and we were back at the dock by noon. We left them hammering anything we put down and I got rocked by a whopper snapper or grouper two minutes before we departed.

we missed a couple on big live biat for a while before switching to gut, and they seemed to like the grunt head and guts more than the usually top tail plug. Our trolling motor didnt work and we never found anything juicy enough to mark as we were trying smaller live bottom so we drifted and found they were short striking while on the drift but if you let line out once on the bottom to not drag it and fed them a little extra after the first hit we would get hooked up and got some nice fish biggest 20lbs the rest 16-18lbs

Nice score Panda, our fish were getting progressively bigger, but we stopped at six. Chucking back dead 12 to 15 pounders to get a 20 seems wrong.

yea it was weird had a few spots with 1-5 lbers that we tried our best to vent and return and the other spots only had jumbos which was nice. Only about 17 miles out of Jax in 60-70'.

definitely glad I bled mine, two did not get bled and had pretty thick bloodline and blood between skin and fillet. the smaller ones probably taste better lol

Yea, there isn't much edible weight left when you start nipping away at bones, bloodlines and sinew and it seems to get worse the bigger they get.

You get 78.2 pounds of meat from an 80 pound Wahoo and a fish sandwich from a 15 pound Genuine.
