They are the party of big government. The GOP has become everything they feared. Trump has made them his bitch and they are too far into this to ever turn around.

Doctor at Brown University deported to Lebanon despite US judge's order
The Constitutional crisis is under way folks. Reuters - A Rhode Island doctor who is an assistant professor at Brown University's medical school has been deported to Lebanon even though a judge had issued an order blocking the US visa holder's immediate removal from the country, according to court papers... Alawieh, a Lebanese citizen who lives in Providence, was detained on Thursday after arriving at Logan International Airport in Boston after traveling to Lebanon to see relatives, according to a lawsuit filed by her cousin, Yara Chehab. She had held a visa to be in the United States since 2018, when she first came to complete a two-year fellowship at Ohio State University before then completing a fellowship at the University of Washington and then moving to the Yale-Waterbury Internal Medicine Program, which she completed in June. While in Lebanon, the US consulate issued Alawieh an H-1B visa authorizing her entry into the United States to work at Brown University, the lawsuit said. Such visas are reserved for people from other countries who are employed in specialty occupations. Despite that visa, CBP detained her at the airport for reasons her family members have still not been provided, according to the lawsuit, which argued her rights were being violated. ------------------------- Man will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest. ignoring court orders and violating civil rights...
Make America Great Again! It is all good until people lose THEIR civil rights, or it affects THEIR lives...or THEIR pocketbooks. It is happening right now. ![]() ------------------------- If I should ever die, God forbid, let this be my epitaph: THE ONLY PROOF HE NEEDED FOR THE EXISTENCE OF GOD WAS MUSIC - KV |

The mental leap from:
Disappearing the undocumented to: Disappearing the Visa holders to: Disappearing the Green Card holders to: Disappearing the naturalized citizens to: Disappearing the natural born citizens is No leap at all, but a series of tiny steps. ------------------------- You can't spell "HATRED" without "RED HAT" |

Economy still in the shitter and people are starting to notice and ask questions? Let's try to distract them.
Take this dish back to the kitchen and throw a pinch of what looks illegal immigration crackdown here, add a hint of federal government employee layoffs there, and maybe give 'em some tax cuts on the house. Anything we can do to cover up our how ass this Administration is. He's like freaking Ratatouille back there Edited: 03/17/2025 at 01:36 PM by seaspray |

The detention of greencard holders for protests at Columbia are the beginning of a very bad precedent. Trump said that the guy at Columbia university, one of the very few that didn't cover his face and shield his identity, was a terrorist in league with Hamas. They produced a flier they collected that they say he distributed. All of his other connections were simply to protest Israel and Hamas' murder of innocent civilians with most focus on Israel because their war machine was so much more efficient in these civilian murders. They called him a terrorist, yanked his greencard, arrested him at his dorm, and flew him to a federal detention center in Louisiana.
In the same vein, they arrested a bunch of illegal aliens, they cliaimed these people were gang members. They have no proof. These people committed no crimes but were rounded up and determined to be Venezuelan and therefore gang members. One deportee said his tattoos confused them so they assumed he was lying and labeled him a gang member. That's the new strategy. Labeling. If everyone is a gangster or a terrorist, their plan is to accuse you of defending terrorists and gang rapists instead of the far more difficult tasks of explaining specifically how they arrived at these dangerous conclusions. Throw in a healthy dose of attack the messenger, accusations of wanting to weaken America and put the cherry on top with the grand daddy accusation of anyone who disagrees with them is a traitor. Traitor! It reminds me of my favorite philosopher Joe Strummer: taking off his turban he says is this a Jew? Working for the clampdown. ------------------------- "One of the reasons why propaganda tries to get you to hate government is because it's the one existing institution in which people can participate to some extent and constrain tyrannical unaccountable power." He had a good teacher.
"In a 1990 interview, Mr. Trump said he had a copy of Hitler's "Mein Kampf," although his first wife Ivana Trump and the friend who gave him the book said it was actually "My New Order," a collection of Hitler speeches." ------------------------- Man will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest. Lee Bollinger knows a thing or two about Constitutional Law: "We're in the midst of an authoritarian takeover of the U.S. government. It's been coming and coming, and not everybody is prepared to read it that way. The characters regarded as people to emulate, like Orban and Putin and so on, all indicate that the strategy is to create an illiberal democracy or an authoritarian democracy or a strongman democracy. That's what we're experiencing. Our problem in part is a failure of imagination. We cannot get ourselves to see how this is going to unfold in its most frightening versions. You neutralize the branches of government; you neutralize the media; you neutralize universities, and you're on your way."

"You neutralize the branches of government; you neutralize the media; you neutralize universities, and you're on your way." Indeed. The removal of oversight. The removal of regulation. The removal of neutral government entities. The above can be added to the list. ------------------------- I was right. |
