Bernie crushed it. Now we'll really see the Dem establishment panic. Knives will be out and the media elites will run full tilt against him from here on out.

Watching Trump's people try to keep him out of one on one debates will be the stuff of legend. Doubly so against Bernie.

Bernie would perform a living autopsy on trump in a debate.

Just remember, 10% + or - of Bernie supporters voted for Trump in the last election. If Bernie wins to go the the main even, he will have the support of a good percentage of former Trump voters, the entire democratic base, and anyone not happy with Trump. Trump will be annihilated by Bernie.

I think it would be close in the EC. Either could win.

If the DNC doesn't kneecap Bernie, it will be an interesting election. There hasn't been a true working class advocate in a national election since the 1940s.
If they do, there's a decent chance of violence at the Dem convention, and a major youth movement will boycott the election. ------------------------- “It is the heart of US policy to use fascism to preserve capitalism while claiming to be saving democracy from communism “ - Michael Parenti Edited: 02/23/2020 at 06:29 PM by RustyTruck |

In a way, I hope that you guys get your wish. I don't like to see people suffer, but some of you need a lesson in reality that, in the long run, might result in the greater good. The Scandinavian countries' and England's dalliance with socialism quickly showed them the error of their ways. Think we are as smart as them. Glad I have prepared for that sort of thing in any event.

Not a single one of them is interested in a healthcare system like the USA. Not one. Seems the other developed countries acknowledge some social responsibility that's lacking in americans.
They enjoy and even take for granted many of the social-democratic programs which Bernie supports. They're not communists and neither are the Dutch, or French, or English. Sure, Bernie faces a determined enemy with unlimited resources with which to slander him and mislead the people. And he's fighting a war on two fronts; firstly with the elites and liberal oligarchs who virtue signal while lining their pockets in the center right, and then with the bare faced racists and fake religious grifters on the far right. I'd rather lose fighting for Bernie than see the country trade one elitist billionaire for another. If trump gets re-elected, the people deserve what they get, may he do his worst. ------------------------- “It is the heart of US policy to use fascism to preserve capitalism while claiming to be saving democracy from communism “ - Michael Parenti |

Look you got to dance with the one that brung ya. I'd choose a decent human being over an ignorant child of a man any day.
Rusty's imaginary battle with the liberal oligarchs is interesting but heck if it gets the Bernie people working for good as opposed to pouting and whining that's good. Edited: 02/24/2020 at 07:35 AM by Greensleeves |

Medicaid expansion and some mods to the Affordable Care Act would be good steps.

Yes theglide. Voters care about those things right?
What about the wall? Does that matter anymore to anyone but the most hardened ignorant Trump supporter? Because during the midterms that was used pretty effectively by Democrats to show the hateful motives of the right. |

Bernie Sanders' disastrous answer on '60 Minutes'
Bernie Sanders, the clear front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination, was asked over the weekend how much his various plans would cost if implemented. He didn't know. Cooper: Do you have -- a price tag for all of these things? Sanders: No, I don't. We try to -- no, you mentioned making public colleges and universities tuition free and canceling all student debt, that's correct. That's what I want to do. We pay for that through a modest tax on Wall Street speculation. Cooper: But you say you don't know what the total price is, but you know how it's gonna be paid for. How do you know it's gonna be paid for if you don't know how much the price is? Sanders: Well, I can't -- you know, I can't rattle off to you every nickel and every dime. But we have accounted for -- you -- you talked about "Medicare for All." We have options out there that will pay for it. ------------------------- Who is Keyser Soze? |

In fact Bernie ought to say Mexico is going to pay for it. Then he can take the money from pentagon like trump. ------------------------- “It is the heart of US policy to use fascism to preserve capitalism while claiming to be saving democracy from communism “ - Michael Parenti |

Rusty's imaginary battle with the liberal oligarchs is interesting but heck if it gets the Bernie people working for good as opposed to pouting and whining that's good. Nice Molly Ivins reference. Frankly I wish the class war was imaginary Green, I really do. I've never known the left to pout and whine, but I'm all for a broad coalition of young people and working class to transform this country for the better. It's a long shot, but it's the only shot we have. The alternative is a very dark time to come. ------------------------- “It is the heart of US policy to use fascism to preserve capitalism while claiming to be saving democracy from communism “ - Michael Parenti |
