There was never a high level of confidence that Trump and his simps would actually release the files.

The FBI didn't use 1000 agents to go through those files for a month...working nearly 24/7 at the cost of almost 25 million dollars for nothing.
They did it to make sure the Orange Julius Caesar was scrubbed from the docs because his involvement was more than he is saying.
