3 amazing guitarists I never gave much attention to because of the bands they previously played in, but then heard some really amazing post-band solo stuff on my streaming music feeds:

Steve Lukather (Toto) https://youtu.be/bsdYeaxqSGE?si=PZXA272SbvVZ7SO3&t=293
Rick Beato has had some content rating Lukather very highly.

From a Toto show, live cover of While My Guitar Gently Weeps:

Steve Stevens (Billy Idol) The whole "Memory Crash" album really kills it and is available on YouTube, but I'll just leave a link to the song "Water on Ares" here:

George Lynch (Dokken) There was some Dokken I liked back in the 80's, but was never really serious enough or hard enough for my metal lead guitar elitism. But alas, my tastes expanded, as did Lynch's playing. I was bummed to miss his show in Cocoa Beach when Area 142 crashed.

This cover of the Rolling Stones' "Paint it Black" is from a multi-artist collection of 60's British Invasion hits redone with a metal flavor. Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) contributes perfectly fitting vocals to this. I replay this one loud and often!

He played for Roxy. I couldn't stand Bryan Ferry's voice.

Manzanera is good. Underappreciated because his bands never got on the radio. I've liked a lot of his work in Diamond Head. Never dissed him for playing in Roxy because I never listened to Roxy. Thanks for the reminder!

You might like this. I have it on DVD. Manzanera wails.
