I have always hated that damn song. I can't figure out why WHite Oprah would choose that one.

The Porter Wagoner hour was on Sat afternoon during the '60s, which I often watched just to see the blonde with the big hair and tight shirt. I appreciate their music now, but it was secondary then. Sat afternoons back then were great with Theater X (and Art Grindle yelling, "Cut 'er loose, Howard!"), Championship Wrestling with Gordon Solie, and ABC's Wide World of Sports all wrapped around the "Game of the Week" (baseball or college football). Ah, to be young again.

And, another - "Daddy Was an Old Time Preacher". Notice how Porter's hair is growing taller to match Dolly's. Every year, they both got an inch or two taller. Porter couldn't stand Dolly growing up in the business and fought her leaving.

Took me a second. That is funny, even more so because it is spot on. I am laughing out loud.
