Rutgers/University of Delaware sea surface temp. Nov 2 might need correction for clouds.
It may be just an artifact of cloud cover, or the result of recent cool rain. Surfline and FIT (via Sebastian Inlet cam) are reporting quite different water temps, the former 78 and the latter much warmer. I don't think we have an upwelling.
Best source for beach water temp (apart from your own thermometer) may be National Weather Service. nws beach forecast Here's info on the famous summer 2023 upwelling. National Weather Service, Melbourne.

The satellite imagery has lots of artifacts. NWS is continuing to show upper 70s for Brevard and Indian River.

Aaand, thank you fellow wetsuit guy ww for allowing an offramp to offer
wetsuit repairs to those who need one.
I'll post current price list, zippers, seams, etc.

Looking entirely normal now. And warm weather continuing. I had a camera on hand Sunday afternoon, so had some fun with surfers in the (productive) wind slop.

Watching storms pop up off of Columbia is nuts. Seeing one spin circles in the Gulf is even nutsier.

GFS model (on Windy) has the hurricane over central Florida, including us, on Wed 20th. Such long term modeling seldom works out with any kind of precision, but it's hair raising. This morning's 69º got my attention. Major cold-front wind to our north, not doing much to give us surf.

Looks like a cold front w rain on Wed 20th. 50% chance according to NWS. Thursday and Friday early mornings look good for testing wetsuits.
