I was just reading a Florida Today article on new westin development at the pier. Starting in August. I was just breezing thru it but in bold caught my attention:

Plans for the Westin include multiple food and beverage venues; swimming pools; retail locations; a deep-water wave pool for surfers; tennis, bocce ball, shuffleboard, basketball and pickleball courts; a day spa and salon; and a multistory parking garage to accommodate about 800 vehicles.

That's a whole lotta stuff to cram into a little area.

I think you are right.
Doesn't look like a lot of space to actually ride the face of a moving wave.
Could it possibly be a standing wave? Looks too big for that to me, but whadda I know?
