Many of us knew him. He drove over from the West Coast for decades. Friend to everyone. Passed away recently. R.I.P. Dan.

You're right, Vic. I often saw him around HT & 1st Light/OC, too. Great guy.

I was a friend of Dan for some time. I miss him. We will be gathering to remember him with a paddle out at 10am on June 22 across the street from Sebastian Inlet Surf and Sport. 8898 S. HWY A1A, 2 miles north of Sebastian Inlet. Afterwards there will be music to celebrate him from Mark Baker, Ricky Carroll & Friends.

Please note - as Pompano wrote, the celebration of life will be at Sebastian Inlet Surf & Sport (about 2 miles north of the bridge; 1/4 mile north of Whitey's Bait and Tackle).

The paddleout will be at the access across from Seb Inlet Surf & Sport; it will NOT be at the Inlet.

I unfortunately cannot make the paddleout this saturday and am bummed. Dan was a cool dude. I talked to John of Seb Surf shop and he asked to tell everyone to help spread the word that both the paddleout and celebration is at the shop and NOT (all caps), repeat NOT at the inlet state park. Someone take vid.

Didn't really know him, but did see him around the South CB and Patrick areas (16th street and officers club mainly) and did some board walk chatting with him.

He obviously loved surfing, and seemed like a nice guy.

I hope the paddle out went well.
Pics would be cool if anyone has them.
