Actually sailboard guys like laird, doerner, and Kalama first surfed peahi on them.
I worked making jumpboards and fins for the great grandall brothers shop in south florida for years.
Got products of the year in windrider mag.
Made some nice fins for kalama tow in boards.
Agree with mr. Cole....makes for an ugly big wave wipeout

    in 1999, I was watching the sailboard activity at Hood River, Oregon, and there was someone with a kiteboard, looking fairly awkward. Figured that would just be an oddity.
    So here's a recent home-grown not-great video. Possibly the best fun is toward the end, guy's on the beach and leaves, mostly seagrape, are skittering around in the wind.
