I saw a cool bucket one in the back of someone's car and can't find it anywhere, even the Amazon. I've found the bag style, but they are hard to clean, so I'm looking for the bucket.

Joe ... your gigantic post has successfully caused this thread to have a size issue

Circa '85 my brother (lives elsewhere) had something neat I haven't seen since, and I've been keeping an eye out for.. Probably came from somewhere in Europe - Maybe France.. Need to ask him.. We were windsurf fanatics in those days - he may well have got it through those 'channels'..
It was a flexible relatively thick very flexible rubber container, kinda pear shaped when 'full', but when empty would be more like a relatively flat cylinder about 18" diameter and a few inches high.. You would fill up with a regular garden type hose, held maybe ?4 gallons.. Had a smaller hose at the top with a squeeze trigger at the shower end.. It Kept the built in water pressure because of the expanded rubber.. yep, towards the end it would loose some pressure, but I was blown away with how well it worked.. No need to hold it above your head etc.. Full it was relatively heavy - not something you would want to lug around unless you had to, but did have a 'built in' rubber 'handle' at the top if I remember correctly. Keep it in the back of your trunk/pickup bed, and refill when empty.. Also was black so the water was 'warm' - esp in the tropics.. Surprised I haven't see one since - not even similar..

COLE : Go to Google, then scroll over to the images option : Type in : Car bucket surf shower, and you should be good to go . I've been through that and all of it looks like cheap crap, I'm looking for something with a little more quality. The one I saw looked like a Vanlife style rig that could stand the Florida heat. ------------------------- I was right. Edited: 06/30/2022 at 11:12 AM by Cole |

Iv'e tried a couple of different showers including rinsekit and a Nomad, an electric portable spray shower. They were both kind of expensive and eventually failed. Now I am back to a I gallon milk jug. It's free and if it fails you just replace it with another.

Now I am back to a I gallon milk jug. It's free and if it fails you just replace it with another. That is the simple way, but I want it for work and don't want to soak myself to the core and can't legally get naked. I think I'll build one myself. ------------------------- I was right. |

The rinse kit is probably the best option from what I have seen, but yes usually after about a year of weekly use it goes out......but for $100 or so can be worth it if you need all the time...

Holy Schnikees......I just googled that Rinse Kit.....now it's like $300 bones......I mean really......for that they better have fixed the pressure loss issues and made it a 5 year product!! Back to those milk jugs.....

Rinsekit's are pricey. Create your own using a 2.5 gallon pressurized sprayer from Walmart with a different nozzle

I've seen ones made from a modified pump garden sprayer. You need to get an adapter for a larger diameter hose to attach a spray nozzle.

I have a propane/battery powered one from a company called "zodi"
They also have a hand pump one that can be warmed on a propane stove. Amazon has a ton of similar ones under "camp shower" ------------------------- It's a democratic hoax |
