Spell it out i shall....

So yeah WG, I obviously understand completely why a woman and liberals in general would take it that way. If I didn't understand that, I wouldn't have taken it in the direction I did. In fact, the very direction I took it in absolutely depends on that basic understanding. Without that understanding, I would be completely unable to point out the ambiguous nature and duplicity of the tweet. Surely you understand that you can't describe a coin in detail without clearly seeing what is on both sides of it?

If you take off the blinders and read the statement at face value without inserting your own preconceived notions of what a douche like Trump may have meant by his tweet, there is nothing inherently sexist about it. In fact, if you replace the woman in the tweet with a male, you and everyone else wouldn't even begin to 'think' that it was sexist in nature.

People on the left and left leaning media outlets ran away with this as Trump basically calling a Senator a whore. Meanwhile, people that support Trump and their media outlets (ok just FOX) inherently don't read it the same way because it IS ambiguous. It gives them just one more 'example' in their eyes of how the media is out to 'get' Trump and how people on the left are 'lunatics', further galvanizing their beliefs.

What I believe is that this tweet was made with the intent to do exactly what I described and it worked. I don't think Trump has the mental capability to come up with that by himself, which is why I alluded to someone else being behind it earlier.




As far as my comment about double standards go.... yeah I went of on a bit of a tangent there and the point was a bit obscure. To clarify that one, I was simply stating that we can never have true equality until comments and such are viewed the same regardless of gender and double standards are no more. Being insulted by something 'just because the target is a woman' when ambiguous or applicable to both genders (both in this case) is in fact gender bias.
