If I were you I wouldn't fall at all. Bottom turn around coral heads. The deeper you take off, the more shallow and more hollow it is. I've pulled out of waves (laying on the board immediately) and fins stuck on coral heads.

its actually safer when its bigger as it breaks outside all the nasty coralheads

it is a sick double up and dont cut back hahah

Not a big enough swell for it to break.

its got more to do with direction of swell and period than height of swell ,

 

TRUTH...... when I was there Tres was MACKING and I checked that spot and was barely rideable

 

Went back to Tres and went over the falls a few times "on" my 7-6

I take it that was your Plan b?

Hoping my regular shortboard will be enough for tres and marias on this swell.

 

Haha... no, it was my Plan A.  The execution of plan......... not so much

Mostly rights on the west coast, but are there any lefts worth checking out when the northwest swell is pumping?
