Witness that took the video said that they asked to use the bathroom and were refused. Then they sat down and quietly waited. Then the police showed up. Then the friend they were waiting for showed up.

Witness also says that a woman came in and got the bathroom code without ordering anything.

Another person in the store apparently piped up and stated that she had been in the store for a couple of hours without buying anything.

The cops were called almost immediately after these guys asked for the bathroom code and then did not immediately leave after the bathroom access was refused.

Maybe all the witness are lying but it really sounds like these two receive special treatment.

Did hear something about a woman "Lauren" who didn't want to be named....CLAIM what she did.

She was the black woman who took the video of the arrest.

As for just being there not ordering...that's not against policy....getting the bathroom code without ordering is against policy.

The bathroom codes were refused to the two that did not order anything....corporate policy dictates that they are asked to leave.

They were also asked to leave three separate trimes by police....and didnt.

They REFUSED!

Everyone did what they were supposed to do.

I guess it HAS to be about race right? No other possibilities? Could it have simply been because they were men? Is it that far fetched that a woman would feel threatened by two men standing around and even more so when they refuse her request to leave her store? What if she had been sexually assaulted in the past? I mean she is a woman in THIS country, so the probability of it is pretty high. If you find out that she had been sexually assaulted in the past or had someone close to her that has, would you be so quick to assume race had anything to do with her asking them to leave? How about calling the cops when they refused?

The facts remain:

No charges were filed.

The CEO met with the men in person.

The manager was let go.

All Starbucks will be closed for training.

The reality? This was viewed as a racist incident and steps are being taken to right the wrong. You can bitch all you want, but it isn't going to change shit.

Love the made up hypothetical BS. Talk about victim blaming.... The moral of the story is starbucks owned up to having poorly trained employee that in fact did something wrong with racial bias. Not only did they own up to it they are going to close down 8000 stores to train people about racial and implicit bias. Which is what I've been trying to tell you all here multiple times. Everyone needs this kind of enlightenment. Some of you think you're not racist but you do not have a clear vision of what racism is and can be. You just want to dismiss it, a telltale sign of racism. Anyway, I applaud starbucks. They are doing the right thing. I'm very impressed.
