I never knew his name until now. Used to surf with him at the pier all the time though. RIP

Bummer. I enjoyed my time in and out of the water with Pete. I knew if it was even breaking at the Pier I would have someone to surf with.

 

Fare thee well Pete. May you find a constant stream of 'Pier Rights' in the sky....

First met "Petey" Barnes late 60's early 70's at the Ron Jon Surf Shop in Collage Park run by the one and only Paul Eaton. Used to give me rides to the beach when I was in high school. Ran across him driving by his house in Cocoa Beach say 10 years ago. He was in the front yard shaping a board. Always smiling. There's a big hole in the water.

Yeah hurl, I was there too.  Rides to the jetties, the streets, the pier with Paul and Pete.  And Mitch too.  Pete was the first guy I saw eating granonla probably around '69 - '70 in his apartment in Cape Canaveral...I had no clue what granola was.  Would see him around campus at FTU.  Always a smile.  Always a good guy.  And a soul surfer, he was.

Rest in peace, my Brother.

A true soul surfer pete was. I will miss surfing with him. It was alway a good times surfing with pete. Is there any memorail services or paddle out info.  

Don't let him fool you, he loved competing in the ESA back in the day!

Darn! Looking at the pier cam and wondering why are there so many goobers out on a flat day. Then I catch this thread. Didnt look yesterday and don't facebarf. Oh well, all the best to freinds and family that showed. Forgivness to us dummies who didn't.
