So that's the Democrats new idea huh?  That seems to imply their prior deal was a pretty crappy one, and by its very name says it falls short of the best deal.  I don't think Chuck thought this one through very well, becasue it comes across like a used car sales pitch, but at least he's honest about it.

Pocahontas Warren should have called BS on this PR idea right away becasue that's what the government offered the Native Americans, over and over, yet their deal just got worse and worse.  What's to make me think this better deal will any differnt for us then it was for them?

This better deal is going to be where they promise us all kinds of things that they'll use our tax dollars to pay for.  My bad, I meant to say "other people's tax dollars."  After all it only works when they promise you something that someone else has.

This is how socialism gets rebranded if you only do a 1/2 ass job of it.

I agree that it's a lame slogan, but certainly most Americans will get a better deal from a party that doesn't base its soul on coddling the rich and it's election victories on the work of hostile foreign intelligence services.
Racist slurs don't help your argument.

Thats funny WG! last time I checked both parties in congress were filled with RICH GUYS AND GALS.  Which is why nothing ever gets done for those that arent RICH. When is every one going to wake the fuck up and realise both parties are the same. They just make different promises that they never keep. Lets just keep letting them  divide all of us while they laugh all the way to the bank.

Both parties are far from the same.
One party is for huge tax cuts for the rich, the other is not.

But we can argue and maybe find the middle ground on that later.
Less reliance on racists slurs will help.

But more importantly:

One party nominated and still enables a senile racist misogynist lying traitor President who's unfitness for office endangers us all. That party has gotta own, get past and fix that before there can be much coming together.

They don't like the minimum wage, they don't like medicaid, they pretend they don't like illegal immigration (pssst it benefits you know who), they want to eliminate taxes on the wealthy (I mean job creators), Citizens United, Death tax, and on and on

While they are all rich, one party supports the rich to a degree that is quite possibly harmful to the rest of the citizens of the US

The president is not King, thank GOD, but congress whether they are Republican or Democrat are the ones who pass the bills. Maybe I missed some thing but I have not seen either party do any thing to help me or my small business out. So maybe I am just bitter.  I just see the rich get richer no matter which party is in control.

The president thinks he is King.
His followers seem to want that too.
They need to be rudely awakened.

I don't care much about anything else as long as this emergency exists.

Ok,  I guess thats why nothing changes.  I guess you never learned how the three branches of government work.  They were designed to have checks and balances so 1 branch could not get too far out of line. All I am saying is , until congress figures out that we elected them to do whats best for the people of this country and not themselves we will continue to suffer.

We elected them to support the Constitution.
That means impeaching a traitor President.
That's a very important check and balance
A congress that figures that out could give us some hope.
As long as they abet him, we will continue to flounder.

Just because you get impeached doesnt mean you have to leave office. Just wait 3 years and vote in another wacko. If I ever vote again I will be voting against every incumbant no matter what party they are. If every one did that maybe the POLITRICKSTERS would get the message.

Comparing Obama and this criminal is ludicrous.

Obama never conspired with our enemies to subvert our democracy.
Obama showed us his taxes
Obama wasn't beholding to gangsters
Obama didn't obstruct justice

Obama doesn't drive on golf greens

but whateverism is pointless
Obama is not President
We are faced with this crisis now

Yes, he needs to be impeached and removed from office before the republic is safe.
Until that happens, no politics matter.

And if you don't ever vote again, or even ever don't vote then the Russians win and all of this talk is pointless.

Is Trump even looking into the proven Russian interference?

He agreed that they interfered, but has done nothing but invite them to do it again. How you Trump fans don't find this disconcerting is beyond me.

He agreed on a Thursday and changed it by Friday. Then tweeted a bunch of shit that no one could follow.

What I find ludicrous is how people blindly follow their party of choice. Why is it so hard to think for yourself?  I was not comparing Obamas' constitutional blunders to Trumps, I was pointing out how all of the presidents  that I listed have often ignored the constitution.  I am not defending Trump I am trying to point out how people get locked in on one thing and can't see the Forrest through all the trees.

What I find ludicrous is how people blindly follow their party of choice.

There are two choices and at this time the two are polar opposites in almost all areas.

The choice is one or the other. It would be lovely if moderate Independents entered the scene, but as of now, that's a pipe dream.

The GOP didn't want Trump any more than the democrats did. The GOP only played fair because they knew he would spoil the chances in the general election when he went Independent. The democrats and republicans are the same with respect to not giving a crap about the working class. It has been a longtime coming for these arrogant law makers.

Did/do you believe Trump actually cares about the working class?

..and as far as arrogance? Really? Trump is by far the most arrogant person to ever occupy the oval office and if that's not bad enough, he's a sycophant to boot.

Nope, wrong answer.....but until people quit blindly following their party, we'll keep getting more of the same!

I don't give a crap right now about any of these comparisons of parties,
I'm not arguing which party cares more about the working man (it's freaking obvious, but none of that matters now)

We have a traitor in the White house.
Fix that clear and present danger, then figure out how to fix politics, or go back to normal.

I love all these abstract arguments about the problems with the two-party system, etc.

It's just an excuse to be apathetic. Please continue to wait for your utopia while I vote for those who will make the best policy.

Fishkiller, I think you need to read my post more closely. I said I may not vote any more, I did not say I don't vote. I would also like some one to explain to me how Trump is a traitor. He is definitley an ego maniac along with some other personality disorders, but I have yet to see any proof that he is a traitor.

Yeah, there is no particular reason he would be hammering Sessions. He also fired Comey because of how he (Comey) screwed Hillary.

If there comes a time when there is proof he broke the law , I will be the first one to say throw him out of office and lock him up. Until that happens this is all speculative bull shit

Yeah, no reason at all for three or four investigations THAT WE KNOW ABOUT.

Some FROM HIS OWN PARTY.

If you don't see an issue with Trump right now, you never will. I bet you'd vote for him while he's sitting in a jail cell.

Yep, there are plenty of kids flowing through the pizza shop in DC.

Then Milo can document the action and sell it to Christian Conservatives!

Bill who?
You mean the ex president?
The one whom everyone now knows is a sleazy horndog with a taste for low end babes?
whatabouthim?
Is he somebody in office or running?
I don't think so, so it's pointless to bring up with respect to Trumps crimes.
And counter productive because bring it up it mostly serves to highlight Donald's guilt.

Do you mean Jeffrey Epstein's island?
Isn't he the guy with whom Donald has been accused of raping that 13year old?
The one who had to plead the Fifth Amendment to the question, "Have you ever socialized with Donald Trump in the presence of females under the age of 18?"

Today's "the two parties suck!" types are just disillusioned conservatives.

No surprise they are disillusioned.

The Democratic Party, warts and all, is trying to find its way forward.

Yep WG, just answering Coles comment to me.  My point exactly, they are all a bunch of scum bags. And as far as Spock's quote , he did sacrifice himself but he said " was the needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few" not out weigh the needs of one. I have also made it clear that if Trump is found guilty of any crimes, he should be removed from office and face any criminal charges and their penalties. I have yet to see any of you say the same about any of the Dems. Fortunately this is still the American where you are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law . Not in a court of un named sources.

" I would also like some one to explain to me how Trump is a traitor"

He conspired with the Russian intelligence agency to trade information they illegally stole in the USA for a change in policy that was desired by Russia and opposed to our national interests.
He sold out America to gain power.
Traitor.

There is much more.
All of the details have not yet been publicly released, I don't expect too many people who voted for Trump to accept this yet, but they will have to once it all is public.

What leaked info was bogus?
Most have just been accurate forerunners of stuff that Trumpists had to eventually reverse their lies on and come clean, like their ever changing story of the first treason meeting.

The leaks so far have just been teasers, the free press is sitting on the big stuff at the investigations request. I suspect that the investigators are managing the leaks, slowly preparing the public for the big shocker to come.

The big stuff won't come in leaks, it will come when the investigations release their finings the form of indictments, subpoenas, perjuries.

I don't really expect somebody who couldn't already see what Trump is, who actually voted for him for President, to easily accept what they are hearing now. It's early, denial is still easy for that mindset.

But when it all comes out denial is gonna be hard.

The historical similarities are mind blowing. More than 35% of the country supported Nixon, until he got on the helicopter. Has der fuher said "I am not a crook." yet?

It annoys me that they will hide under rocks when the shit is done. "Trump? Yeah, I only liked him for his _fillintheblank_". Yeah, but you fucking voted for him.

Same as original W supporters, only a far worse choice now. At least he hasn't invaded a random country yet.

Are conservatives really interested in personal responsibility? From what I see it's just lip service and move on to the next big thing. Shame or remorse are for losers, huh?

Personal responsibility?  She is a libertarian!

It seems that the election of Donald Trump has sparked an inner rage of the nation’s liberals that cannot be quenched by satire and media dominance alone.  In the age of Trump, the left requires a more anarchic outlet for their anger.  Riots in Berkeley, beatings at Trump rallies, and a mass shooting incident at a baseball field all illustrate just how extreme and radical the American leftist has become.  They oppose our President, and the entire government, to an obscene amount, hoping only to obstruct our nation’s progress in the name of their “resistance”.

This anger has spread out from the swamp that is Washington D.C., and infected a great many previously reasonable Americans, who are now finding themselves compelled to childish and shallow “protests” of their own.  Fox News’ Kat Timpf was the victim of such an attack this week.

“Kat Timpf, a co-host of the ‘Fox News Specialists,’ unloaded on Twitter after a guy assaulted her with a bottle of water in Brooklyn, New York.

“Timpf was scheduled to speak at an event held by political commentator (and frequent FNC guest) Ben Kissel, who’s running for Brooklyn borough president. That’s when a lunatic dumped an entire 1.5-liter bottle of water on her and then scurried away like a coward.

“’He knows I’m here, dumps an entire 1.5 liter bottle of water on me, first on my head,’ Timpf tweeted. ‘And then I turn to look and he splashes it directly on my face and runs out.’”

You have the do-nothing Republicans in charge of the investigation, do you actually expect some type of resolution from them?

They won't even subpoena Manafort and the House committee told Trump JR they didn't need him.

Republicans have obstructed the Federal Government for years and it finally got them what they want...absolute control. Unfortunately for the country, the party of R is so broken, they still fail with total control.

No, they aren't all scum bags.
There are plenty of good people in government
And some scum.

But we have never had a scumbag of anywhere near this scale in the White House in my memory, and that includes Nixon.

Yes, for now it's just entertainment and preparation of the public for what's coming.
He is still innocent in the face of the law.
All of these leaks and unnamed sources will never get him impeached or jailed.

But Mueller's investigation will.
Latest leaks are that the indictments will not be unsealed until late fall at the soonest, but before year end.

Honestly, I think the market is overvalued and ripe for a big correction.
I'm very scared that Donald's sudden fall will be very disruptive, could drive a major crash and recession. I'm gradually moving my nest egg into safety zones.

Again, no special insider info, all public, you just have to look.

Not really tied in any more, it's all public on blogs and twitter feeds and certainly unsubstantiated.

I do trust these guys, because they run all across the political spectrum and most have previously served in the IC (as did I ) and understand how this world works.
And because so much of what they have already have leaked has been confirmed in the MSM and by some even by the perps.
And because I am not swayed by whatever Trump has that fooled so many, I can clearly see what a piece of shit he is, all of this is eminently believable.

It all may be bullshit, but if so, I think Mueller would have come to that conclusion already, he would not be staffing up massively with the very people he would need to prove these kinds of crimes.

LOL.

That Trump is beyond the bounds of normal politics should be very clear. If, in spite of that, you support him, you should support him. If you don't then don't blame others for the horrors he has brought.

I think many of us have made very clear that he TRUMPS other issues for now. They are petty by comparison.

I would support any credible investigation of anybody when there is sufficient evidence that a crime may have been committed. As there is with Donald. Which is why the Mueller probe exists.

This has already happened extensively with Clinton, and they have come up with squat.

It's not about any group. It's not partisan. My disgust with Trump is not partisanship. But I fear that those sticking with him are freaking blinded by it.

The permanent damage I fear is a loss of respect for and trust in democracy and for the free press in America. That and the possibility that this ass could get millions killed with an irrational freak out.

I think that the way the DNC worked behind the scenes to stop Bernie's insurgent outsider campaign and favor the candidate they preferred and had been cultivating is entirely within the sort of stuff that parties do, and that there was nothing illegal or even improper about it, just normal hardball politics. Had the Republican party been better at it, they might have avoided this disaster.

I was a strong Bernie supporter, still am. We almost pulled off a huge upset. But Hillary won the Democratic primary contest. Nothing to investigate.

To suggest that it is even remotely comparable to Donald's crimes is ludicrous.

And no, everything is not going to be all right.
The damage Donald and Putin have done to our democratic republic will be long lasting and perhaps even permanent.

I absolutely agree with that, but it was the collusion that got him elected, and that was treason.
A 25th amendment solution would be great, but I don't see the GOP supporting it.

"Section 4. Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President."

I don't think thats why she lost.  Hillary was an extremely flawed canidate. Many people were looking for a change, much like in ' 08 wnen Obama won. I don't think many people new how psychologically challenged Trump is. knowing what I see now in his behavior I would not have voted for him and I definitely would not have voted for Hillary. Hope fully there will be better canidates next time around. I do however support some of his agenda where business and deregulation is concerned.

I agree she was flawed, and damaged by decades of partisanship, but not flawed enough to cause so many otherwise rational people to vote for a lying sack of shit instead.
But the Russian lies campaign was very effective, and I do believe that that (and Comey's last minute huge mistake) were enough to turn the tide.
I hope we get the chance to vote again.

I dont think there were many lies released in those hacked emails or what Comey was looking into. No one from the DNC has denied the authenticity of them , just that they were hacked. Granted what Comey did was odd but I don't think he had any choice.

I think Comey was trying to do the right thing, but he screwed it up.
He has stated that the thought that he may have skewed the election nauseated him.
Nate Silver's analysis is convincing that he probably did.

If Hillary had not mishandled classified documents she would not have been under investigation.  People need to own up to their mistakes. If any civilian had done what she did they would be in jail.

I think Comey impacted the election more than the Russians. People that were on the line thought she may very well be indicted. Now that shoe is on the other foot and it may very well fit.

FTR, my candidate was never in question of being indicted, probably doesn't even know any Russians and damn sure wouldn't have appointed Jeff Sessions.

Comey's stunt swung just enough on the fence voters to screw us.

But the fact that a disaster like Donald was even in the game was due to so much fake news being spread by the Russian. I believe this to be true because so many Donald voters believed so much stuff that was NOT TRUE, but they had seen it so often in the fake news feeds, they swallowed it.

Blaming the shrinking middle class on Obama is intellectually dishonest. This has been a long time coming and it is mostly from the dismantling of protections we had in place.

I think you may be underestimating peoples dislike for HRC. I believe it was the Democratic Party basically stealing the nomination from Bernie, that was the final straw in her coffin. Trump just happened to be in right spot at the time, which is a testament to how effed up the republican party is as well. The 2 party system is broke.

There were a select few of us (3% to be exact) that tried to spread the light.

I would like to see third parties grow and become mainstream too, but they are not the answer--because the problem is within us. The parties just reflect that.

Love it.  Mad at the nomination process so phoned in the vote.  That's not what GOP voters did.

But we are way off topic, which was basically one that I agree with.
"A better deal" is a lame slogan.
If the Democrats want to win we need to figure out how to prove to working white people that we are on their side too(we are).
Lame slogans and image management won't cut it.

No, they wouldn't.
The scope was too light for jail time, the classification level low and markings not so clear.
Nobody would go to jail for what she did.

There is no such thing as the Democrat party.
I don't get why Republicans persist in misnaming the opposition.
Is Democratic party too hard to say?

What is rich what is poor?
I'll agree that Republicans don't give a crap about the poor, but how is the Democratic party the party of the rich?
Is it us that focuses so on keeping their taxes low above all else?
I don't think so.

I do get peoples dislike of HRC.
She's not an appealing character, and the legacy is long.
But I think an awful lot of that is the result of Russian fake news campaign against her.

The "stealing the nomination from Bernie" bit just doesn't wash with me, she got a lot more primary votes.
It's a testament to our (Democrats) dissatisfaction with her as candidate that somebody as odd and radical as Bernie got so many at all.

I'm not sure if Bernie would have beaten Donald. He would have had to do with a lot of the corporatist money that Hillary got being massively aligned against him.
