Supply siders like to lecture people on the obvious.

Of course some things are not so obvious to them, such as the effect of raising minimum wage which they see as a cost and a liability instead of an injection of cash into a crucial part of the economy.

Yea, I don't even bother to argue that shit anymore, I'm tired of stupid yea, but 1+1=2 style counter arguments.
It's all our money when you get right down to it, we all just shuffle it around and skim what we can.

Well, this elephant murderer isn't seeing any of mine shuffle his way anymore.

There are other pictures out there of him with dead once beautiful rare wild animals, and evidence of an apparent effort to scrub them from the internets pipes.
However you may feel about hunting and guns, this shit is beyond.

I was no huge fan of his sandwiches, but they were OK and the delivery was fast and reliable. But he has permanently lost my business, and probably that of many more.

Exactly. Nothing wrong with keeping the herd numbers in check and eating the meat.

But this fat-ass needs to take a long jog through the woods if he wants to be adventurous.

I saw that many years ago. No fat man sandwich for me. I'm partial to Jersey Mike, has he shot anything?

Jared's wife is suing Subway. I think she claims the pastrami made Jared go deranged.

If eco-tourism brought more money to the ten African nations that still legally allow people to hunt elephants, than the hunters bring in, then you would see a drastic reduction in the number of pictures like this one. Until then, the people in these African countries are going to do what they need to do to survive and provide for their families.

As always, the simplistic economic analysis is just that.

I was/am unaware of any organized boycott, I just saw this picture today.

The pics from his 2010 African endangered animal murder spree seem to be in the news again because he's trying to take the company public and thus engaged in some reputation damage control.

He's claiming to no longer hunt big African game, but hasn't shown that he knows how wrong he was, nor made any attempt to make it right.

I make my own choices.

I'm not big on any hunting, tried it a few times, didn't enjoy it, except the one time my brother in law took me bow hunting for deer.
That felt like hunting, like recreating the primitive struggle for survival, (we didn't get any that day). I do still like to fish though.

Blowing some animal away with a gun from a distance is lame to me.
Guns were invented for killing people in war, using them on animals seems grossly unfair.

A colleague ordered from JJs. I explained the extra curricular activities of the owner. When the lunch arrived, I asked the bike delivery guy if he knew about the ridiculous hunting and he said he had just learned about it and was leaving for another job with an independent, locally owned deli. Colleague said no more to JJs. Win.

I do like shrimp but generally avoid it these days.
Most of it is slave labor Thailand farm raised muddy tasting crap anyway.
Wild caught usually involves raping the sea as described above.

But I don't really understand the relevance of the question to murdering an intelligent endangered animal for sport.

WG, I guess the relevance was that man is destroying the planet in a larger since and does not eating a sub saves elephants or not eating shrimp saves baby fish. Which one has a bigger affect. With all due respect.

OK, fair enough, I get the point now.
Of course by-catch of baby fish is bad and wasteful. Eating seafood of any kind is become increasingly unsustainable, so I do far less of it than i used to.

But it isn't the same as murdering a living thinking social being that is also fast becoming endangered. I don't think I'm saving any elephants here, I doubt he will do it again. This isn't really a save the planet thing, this guys is just an asshole and I want to see him pay for what he did.

The only person that really ought to care what I eat is me. But of course the side effects of what we all consume are felt by everyone.

When wild animals are given the respect we expect ourselves the planet will have a chance. From land crabs trying to cross the island to leaving pockets of habit everywhere, the earth will be sustainable when we realized all creatures are all interconnected.
