Difficulty in understanding simple commands by officials!

Charlotte police warned 43-year-old Keith Lamont Scott again and again to drop his handgun before an officer shot and killed him, the police chief announced Wednesday morning, after riots damaged patrol cars and injured at least 16 officers, one of whom was hit in the face with a rock.

 

Police Chief Kerr Putney said during a news conference that officers were searching for a suspect Tuesday when they saw Scott exit a vehicle with a handgun at an apartment complex on the city's northeast side. "The officers gave loud, clear verbal commands which were also heard by many of the witnesses. They were instructing the subject, once he got out of the vehicle, to drop the weapon... Mr. Scott exited his vehicle armed with a handgun as the officers continued to yell at him to drop it."

 

Putney said Officer Brentley Vinson shot Scott because the man posed a threat. Vinson is black, as was Scott.

 

"It's time to change the narrative, because I can tell you from the facts that the story's a little bit different as to how it's been portrayed so far, especially through social media," Putney said.

 

His comments were an apparent reference to a profanity-laced, hourlong video that a woman claiming to be Scott's daughter posted to Facebook soon after the shooting, saying that her father had an unspecified disability and was unarmed. In it, she appears to be at the shooting scene, which is surrounded by yellow police tape, as she yells at officers.

Since police are never held accountable, the details of whether they were correct or not in this instance is not longer relevant to the insurgents.

The solution to that is that blacks should straighten up. Of course police are going to look at you more carefully when belong to a race commits a disproportionate amount of the crime. Is that fair to the law abiding blacks? Nope. But you are fighting human nature.  And you are fighting the politicians who have to respond to and get votes from the law abiding citizens. Take Baltimore, for example. That police force wasn't racist. For Pete's sake, the mayor, district attorney, most of the city council and the police chief were all black. But when the mayor and city counselors get hell for the high rates of crime in the city, they put pressure on the police chief to get it under control, if he wants to keep his job. The only thing the police chief can do is to go after the criminals, which generally are black in that part of the world. He could, I guess, arrest every white in the city, but that wouldn't make a dent in the crime, would it?

A black guy is shot and killed by black cop, because he didn't put down a gun when he was repeatedly told to do so. The story is backed up by a black police chief and the victim's brother is on the news telling the cameras that white cops and white people are "the devil". Does his brother know nothing about what happened or is he this stupid?

They went in the Hyatt and punched the front desk clerk and concierge guy in the face a few times, then threw bricks through some of the windows. What happens when they assault the wrong person and a few rioters end up getting their asses killed? Then this thing will explode like a powder keg. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton will be on planes before they can get their shoes on and all because people are f'ing stupid.

This is not a movement. This is ignorant people looking for an excuse to be violent and cause trouble.

If the outcome (cop walks away unsanctioned) is the outcome in EVERY case, irrespective of evidence, then sooner or later you can expect those subject to police mistreatment to consider all incidents as inflammatory.

Perfect example of how people are treated differently based on race. A black man arriving at the scene in the same car with a gun in his hand out the window...... that would have been different, and when he was shot you guys would say "he had a gun!!!"

You seem to be assuming that blacks like riots. I disagree with such stereotyping. I believe that a very high percentage of all people - including blacks - are against this kind of thing.There is a very small constituency that favors riots and anarchy in our streets. We can expect more of the same under Clinton. This will move votes to Trump, who is the law and order candidate.
