I grew up in Miami, saw riots several times over a black person getting shot by the cops under dubious circumstances.

I understand that tragedy evokes emotion. I will never understand how rioting and looting are an appropriate expression of indignation.

There are several cross currents in this case. I mean have you checked out the cops in this town? Chief seems to be some kind of caricature. Does he wear mirrored sunglasses? How did this small town police department afford all the military type weapons? How many times have stories changed from the cops and the witnesses?

What about the timing of the release of the store robbery.....errr... I mean shoplifting?

Even the movies and tv can't make this shit up.

The grants also paid for body armor, vehicles and surveillance equipment. It was not immediately clear if those grants had paid for equipment being used in Ferguson.

Edit: This guy also showed a pattern of thinking he is above the law and that he is ENTITLED to do anything he wanted. He walked into a store and took what he wanted, he walked down the middle of the street disrupting traffic (which was the reason he was confronted by the police) and then he decided the police did not have the right to confront him or question him resulting in the confrontation that ended his life. Remember deputy Pill?? Could this have been another situation?? Police need to make a split second decision.....

I don't understand that, but I know that I have no frame of reference for what it is like to live there.

I've also never heard of a body being left on the ground for four hours before being toted away in an SUV.

I've also also never seen tear gas and rubber bullets used on a non violent crowd in the United States (in the last 20 years).

Police don't usually execute people for the hell of it, and, when they do, damn sure don't do it in the middle of the afternoon on a busy street. Common sense tells me that the gentle giant was charging the officer and the officer shot him in self defnse. But we shall see.
