Hey everyone, I'm sure most people on here have a story of near death while surfing on a big day! It's never a comfortable feeling when you air drop 10ft+ only to be held under by several waves! Your heart is racing and you would give anything to get back to the surface! I've certainly had situations like this surfing all around the world, but it was not until I nearly drowned on a huge day in South Africa before I realized NOT training was NOT an option. After that, I started freediving and worked until I could hold my breath for 5min and dive to -160ft. I want to help you understand the principles of freediving and how the relate to surfing! For this reason, I'm offering Heavy Wave Survival Training! This is a 1 day course that covers: - Basic Anatomy and Physiology of Freediving - Stress management for the emergency breath hold - Pre/post breathing techniques for breath hold activities - How to train for your maximum breath hold attempt - Safety/Rescue for hypoxic incidents - Training drills to simulate rough surf, large sets, etc. Instagram @morgan.cooney Phone: 321.505.3949 |
