Diamond river sometimes get a bad rap, however, what is good about these is that I'm still eating longan in September and they have a great taste. The seed is big and not as much flesh as a kohala, but I'm eating longan! I think the racoons/squirrels forget about my tree in the corner and left all the fruit for me!

Dave, I got some from Toppy today, they have thin skin and watery but very sweet. I think they're almost at the end of the season.

I'm bumping this thread up from the past. My Diamond River is edible currently and are really good. they are drier than the more popular kohala, but very tasty. A little early for longan and my kohala fruit is very small. I'm surprised the Diamond River was ripe first this year.
