All the lychees in only one side of my Mauritius Lychee tree were split, for reasons unknown to me.

The following images will show the gradual ripening process and how the lychees became split.

An Infra-Red photo, shot in the dark without any light, will show the hordes of nocturnal insects feasting on the split lychees.

That is pretty cool photography.

None of my mauritius split this year and the tree is super duper loaded. I've been eating at least a pound a day. They are really good.

I was thinking of bringing some to the BRFC meeting tonight.

Is the splitting a result of too much rain?

For the first time, this year my Lychees will ripen way before the end of June and my
mangoes are going to be ready after the Lychees.

Here is a bunch of Mauritius Lychee

My mauritius is currently ripe now. Still a little tart but sweetening up every day. I've been eating them.

Gotta protect with bird netting. The top of the tree is being wiped out by birds and bushy tail rats.

what the squirrels do to my macadamia. I'm going to cut the tree out. I never get any nuts and it is such a squirrel attractor. They ravage the nuts all in one day. *bastards*. Ever had fresh macadamia? Amazing taste. However, I can't get any.

Here is my glenn mango. Getting close. I ate a rosigold last night. Freakin' delicious.

Here is a sweetheart lychee. I highly recommend this one. Don't be fooled by the green skin. It is ripe and ready to eat.

The taste is out of this world. If mauritius is shrimp, the sweetheart is lobster.

mmmm...yer killing me, Dave. I guess it's a good thing I've never tasted lychee.

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.

Thanks, it is great to walk around the yard and pick your own fruit!

Hopefully everyone else has the bug and is planting fruit trees.
