Bottom line, Trump (and America) won, progs lost. There was no blue wave. Indeed, the GOP house losses were under the average losses in these circumstances. Thus, the prog fantasy that American voters would use this occasion to reject Trump was, in fact, a fantasy. Compare Obama's first mid-term, a loss of 63 house seats and 6 senate seats. That would be a rejection. The loss of the house is not a great thing, but it has it's advantages. We can expect the progs to use their majority to do all sorts of crazy crap (see, e.g., the Kavanaugh fiasco), which will help Trump and the GOP in 2020. On the other hand, no one really cares about their rantings against Trump anymore, so that should not hurt him. Since the split is close, we should be able to get certain things done. Conversely, there should be no impeachment. Progs are out of luck on that, though I pray that they are stupid enough to give it a go. On the flip side, we gained in the Senate. That was the real prize. Say hello to a horde of conservative judges, who will have a positive effect for decades to come. Let's hope that Ginsberg leaves the Court in the next 2 years. Say goodbye to anymore Kavanaugh-type BS in the senate. All Trump nominations will sail through the senate. Moreover, Trump deserves almost the sole credit for the Senate pick-ups. This boosted his power. I would add that we also benefited by getting rid of most of the fake Republicans. That is, the remaining legislators are full on Trump. So, we will not have to worry about the McCains and Flakes of the world stopping progress. Progs lost. all their golden children, Beto, Abrams, Gillum, got their asses kicked. The people just don't like progs. Making it better, dems and progs spent billions of dollars on these losing efforts. Steyer? Jeez, is there a bigger idiot in the country? He has spent hundreds of millions for nothing. though dems have the house, they have very little power to do their destructive crap. As I said, above, however, they will piss off real Americans which should get Trump re-elected in 2020. You progs seen Pelosi's favorability ratings lately? She is once again the face of the dems, something we are quite content with. Obama showed that he is still detested. Unlike the case with Trump, just about every one of the candidates he actively stumped for lost. One can only hope that he continues to remind everyone of his horrible presidency. It is one of our best weapons. So, this was a win for us and a loss for dems/progs. The small win that dems/progs got will prove Pyrrhic. Oh, and you progs have one other thing to thank Obama for. Remember the "I have a phone and a pen?" Yep, like Reid's idiotic dump of the filibuster for judicial nominations, Obama paved the way for executive orders for Trump. Get used to them. Get used to another 2 years of futile rage against Trump. Life is good.

Two things. The Cubans that continued to vote republican are apparently confused by their chosen party's opinion of them and a million convicted felons just entered the world of voting. Enjoy your victory today.

LOL Gee what a suprise- our resident Prog-Stalker has been telling himself all night that "progs" lost.

Nevermind that TEXAS came this close to turning blue.

Self delusion seems to be Tpapski forte.. must be all that Stuart smalley time talking to himself in the mirror.

By the way, did have a sleep-over at Crankkkit's last night, because you seem to be typing from his Text-Block-O-Matic 3000

But please- tell us more about how progs lost - better yet, you can mail it to Nancy Pelosi hahaha

tpap, what was the big win?

Dems picked up 7 governorships.

Dems won control of the House of Representatives.

GOP won a few senate seats of which Florida was one.

I don't see the big GOP victory.

Enlighten me.

PS - Dems could pick up Arizona and Montana too.

My assessment

Democratic HOR means Mueller gets to finish his job.
Other paths to truth are now unimpeded.

Republicans are now fully the Trump party.
Truth is irrelevant to them.
Character , "moral compasses","rule of law" are obsolete ideals.
It's now all about using lies and fear to win power.

But Mueller"s reveal will now confront a split congress. It's damning fact dump will not be concealed, its scope and depth will demand reaction from all.

An impeachment vote that gets a lot of Rs to grow some patriotic testicles and some say "yea this is bad"
It might prompt a few more of the once proud, now complicit "Never Trump R"s to try again to point a path out of the crazy for conservatives .

Democrats took back the House and they won through suburban voters in red states.

That's plenty enough win for me.

Gridlock is good. I like it. The one thing that I don't like is having to listen to Pelosi blow her horn again for two years. She's getting so she can't even talk anymore, so I guess she's perfectly fit for a Democratic House Speaker. The idea of Mad Max chairing the House Financial Services Committee kind of gives me the willies too. No good can come from that.

For a "winner" Trump seemed very angry yesterday.

What does he act like when he loses?
