On August 18, 1792, Alexander Hamilton wrote:
The truth unquestionably is, that the only path to a subversion of the republican system of the Country is, by flattering the prejudices of the people, and exciting their jealousies and apprehensions, to throw affairs into confusion, and bring on civil commotion.... When a man unprincipled in private life desperate in his fortune, bold in his temper, possessed of considerable talents, having the advantage of military habits - despotic in his ordinary demeanour - known to have scoffed in private at the principles of liberty - when such a man is seen to mount the hobby horse of popularity - to join in the cry of danger to liberty - to take every opportunity of embarrassing the General Government & bringing it under suspicion - to flatter and fall in with all the non sense of the zealots of the day - It may justly be suspected that his object is to throw things into confusion that he may "ride the storm and direct the whirlwind." |

Yup, there were progs back then too. They have always been hated by most Americans. ------------------------- I :heart; Q |

Actually it was Progs that created this country. It was the cons who just wanted to keep giving our money to the king. ------------------------- "I remember South Africa in the late 70's, sleeping on the beach at J-bay, smoking ganja with the blacks. On weekends we'd go to the pub in East London to drink beer and fight with the Afrikaners. They liked to fight, I liked to fight. It was a good time" |

Mmm, yep. Chumpfscum maggots like progblo have always been enemies of the constitutional system of govt created by the most brilliant political minds in world history.
He and SardineSlayer would have been confined to stocks down by the harbor. With children and actual american patriots throwing tomatoes and garbage at them. You are a chumpfdirt traitor not qualified to sniff hamiltons soiled laundry. Much less oink another useless opinion. duuuhhhh..... ------------------------- It's a democratic hoax Edited: 09/15/2017 at 09:33 AM by nukeh2o |

The rebel colonists were the ANTIFA of their time. Bad dudes destroying Crown property and squaring off with Tories in the streets.

No. They were the Tea Party of their time, literally. Need further proof? Progs have never been successful at anything. If progs had been behind the Revolution, it would have failed. It didn't. ------------------------- I :heart; Q |

Absolutely astonishing how far backwards we've gone, comparing the philosophical and political intellect of our nation's founders with the moronic trash we have for representatives today.

Agreed. The founders would have been appalled that someone like Sanders is in the spot he is in. ------------------------- I :heart; Q |

The American revolution and the French revolution, were watershed progressive events in human history.
That's what progress is, moving forward, and we continue to move forward in spite of the reactionaries. In fact the dog-whistle racist motto "make America great again" confirms the success of the progressive movements in America. ------------------------- “It is the heart of US policy to use fascism to preserve capitalism while claiming to be saving democracy from communism “ - Michael Parenti |

The progressive movement keeps shooting itself in the foot with hypocrisy and ludicrous behavior. The sad thing is, the farther left you are, the less capable you are of seeing how your brand of insanity is really just as bad, if not worse, than that of the far right you hate.

Progressivism is advancing on all fronts, your participation or understanding is not required.

French revolution, were watershed progressive events in human history.
What was the body count in that one by the way??? And then they beheaded all the 'revolutionaries' then they tried to take over Europe and Russia. Then they became a third world country for awhile. Then the Gremans smashed their paradise... twice and ... AND... America the Republic, saved their asses both times, they being unable to even defend their "Progressive' way of life. ------------------------- |

If not for the French you would be singing God Save the Queen and learning about the treason of Washington and Jefferson, who would have been hung of course. The "progressive" way of life is doing fine. ------------------------- “It is the heart of US policy to use fascism to preserve capitalism while claiming to be saving democracy from communism “ - Michael Parenti |
