As many as 34 million it seems.  That's roughly 11% of the current US population.  If you're wondering under what authority this solicitation is issued, you're not alone.  If you're thinking the federal government is slipping another one past us you're not alone.  If you believe this is detrimental to the nation's well being you're also not alone.

You do understand that there are millions of people here from other countries who work legally?

You do realize that there are millions of U.S. citizens out of work, right?

Those that are here and working legally have green cards already or work visas.  "Legally" is the key word here.  These green cards are well above and beyond the legal ones.  That 34 million wasn't enough of a hint huh?

Perhaps a policy change is in the works and we want to track all non-citizens.

That would be a novel idea, eh?

Here's a news flash - "US State Dept to Beef up Border Security".  There's a catch though - Border Security

I swear I couldn't make this stuff up. Its just too damn funny. Almost as funny as a policy change by this admin that would track illegals.

Imagine if Diseny opened their back gate, put out a welcome sign and handed out a meal ticket to everyone that walked through.  How long would that last, and why is our southern border any differnt?

Fear much?

From the pre-solicitation:

“…The objective of this procurement is to provide card consumables for the Document Management Division (DMD) that will be used to produce Permanent Resident Cards (PRC) and Employment Authorization Documentation (EAD) cards.  The requirement is for an estimated 4 million cards annually with the potential to buy as many as 34 million cards total. The ordering periods for this requirement shall be for a total of five (5) years….”

Let’s do some of the math:

There are about 14m LPRs (I-551 PRC holders) in the USA.  The I-551 needs to be renewed every 10 years.  So, that is about 1.4m right there.  Add in about another 5% of the 14m for lost cards, and now you are up to about 2.1m cards annually just to support the current LPR population.

Now, let’s look at the work permit type visa holders who have I-766 EAD cards.  These cards are valid for varying time periods ranging from months to years depending on the visa type, type of work, etc.  Hard to find solid data on this but it would a conservative guestimate that they go through about 1m cards annually for renewals and issuing of new cards.

So, right there is about 3.1million cards required annually just to support the current legal populations of LPRs and Work Permit holders.   Since the pre-solicitation is for 4million card stock annually that doesn’t leave a lot of extra card stock for the millions of people Obama is going to document after the elections.

In any case, I hope that documenting the undocumented is on the table after the elections.

For the record I'm not anti imigration, its just that I believe it should be controlled as required by Federal law.  With the current admin it is clearly out of hand and without any form of control.  It in no way can be considered beneficial to the nation either.  And yet it keeps getting better -

If I am a fool (as you have eluded to) and can figure out reasonable explanations for your conundrums, what does that make the lot of you who seem to be confused by everything?

I for one am not confused.  I can clearly see this is an outright malice attempt by a sitting president to dilute the US's voting public in his party's favor.  It is not about human rights or compassion, which is just a cover.  If ture, and it appears to be by all logical accounts, it is criminal and only a fool would fail to see that.

Fortunately, the general public is beginning to catch on to the reality of this criminal activity.  Only the extreme left isn't calling BS on it because they want to drive the US to a socialist state, and this appears to be a desperate act to meet that end.

By way of the above logic, there are three categories you could fall into; realist, socialist or fool.  Your next post on the subject will determine in which one you fall.  Not me.

BTW, how does 4 M annually equate to 34 M over 5 years?  Is that some kind of socialist math?
