A New York Times interactive map shows law enforcement agencies whose addresses were given as Brevard County, Fla. getting an extraordinary (and pretty much unbelievable) 79 surplus helicopters. No other county in the US seems to have anywhere near as many. Sacramento County, Calif. got 17. Any idea whether the number could be accurate (I bet it's a typo), and if so, who might have gotten most of them? |

I hope it was mosquito control.

Evidently not Mosquito Control. The Sheriff's Department is big on military surplus, and they've had at least one military helicopter (Vietnam vintage). |
