I'm looking for a good, vegetarian, sour cream to make European style butter from. I have found that Daisy brand says that they are vegetarian but, any other commonly available brands? A lot of brands list "cultures" and "enzymes" and such but they do not list what kind they are.

I've done some marginal research online and find a "wide spectrum" of answers; from an "animal rennet is generally not used anymore" to a " this, this, this, this, , , , , and that all contain animal rennet" and, as such, what is really veggie? I found an older 2011 site done by a Jain who says that just about most "snacks" contain animal rennet products! Here is an example:

LAYS
Cheddar & Sour Cream Potato Chips - Animal Rennet
Baked Lays Cheddar & Sour Cream Potato Crisps - Pork Enzymes
Baked Lays - Parmesan & Tuscan Herb Flavored Potato Crisps - Animal Rennet
Baked Lays Barbecue Flavored Potato Crisps - Natural Chicken Flavor
Kettle Cooked Krinkle Cut Spice Rubbed BBQ - Pork Enzymes
Kettle Cooked Sharp Cheddar - Animal Rennet
Stax Cheddar Flavored Potato Crisps - Pork Enzymes
