Two weeks and counting. Brutal cough. Plugged ears. Stuffed nose. Inflamed throat.

Tested negative for flu, Covid and strep.

Anyone else been on this adventure?

I had a nasty cold over Thanksgiving that was negative for flu and covid; probably bacterial since Z-pak seemed to knock it back. Although my cough was only mild with it (sinus and sore throat were the worst). I'm still trying to clear its leftover crap from my lungs.

There are several respiratory bugs said to be going around, including pneumonia and RSV.

There is now (supposedly) an antiviral med that can reduce severity of RSV:

Good luck with it all; sorry to hear you were sick over the whole holiday break.

I usually try to break sickness by being active. That is the wrong thing to do with this one. I went back to work too early and it pegged me back several days. I will not be sweating this one out!

No cold, but what seems to be constipation with fever and fatigue. I was in bad shape Sat. and Sun.

Sucks being sick. I've been avoiding it somehow (knock on wood). A few fb friends reporting they have covid bad the past two weeks.

If this was RSV, I highly recommend the vaxx if you are 50 or above.

I read that the virus effects people differently. Some get respiratory issues, others get gastric problems. I'm lucky, I got a mix of both.

Hmmm, , , , ,

I caught my first cold since May 2017 the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Only in my right sinus, and only for less than 24 hours. But had a bit, not a lot, of persistent nasal congestion. Morning 'clear them out' coughs.

A cold might give you resistance to other viruses, depending on it's makeup. That is a good thing.

Two of my coworkers have been down for the last two weeks.

My particular scuzz has cleared up. The dermatologist's antibiotic to keep his surgical wound uninfected might also have attacked whatver was causing gut problems.
