Dave Mastro heat and air- Satellite Beach - 777-2664

He has installed 2 units for me at 2 different houses. Honest pricing and quality work. Lives in the neighbor hood. I Never had a single complaint regarding his service, response time or pricing. You owe it to yourself to at least let him write you a bid,  and see for yourself. Good luck.

...ditto all that.

Services mine regularly.
I believe he also could have sold a complete unit
to a friend, but instead got thier fan running for the price of a cap.

I've known him since high school baseball days with our sons.

Honest, reliable, dependable.

He fixed my water to air system twice for free. He said it was because he knew I needed a new system, and he hoped I would give him a shot at the bid when it came time to buying a new one. He earned my business and has kept it.

We've been using Dave Allison Electric & AC for years. Good service, fair price, and a really knowledgable guy. His crew is good, too. They get sent out for simpler jobs, and Dave tackles the more complex and off-the wall stuff.

Sounds like everyone likes Mastro. Try calling Mike P @ American air n heat. Good local guy that grew up here. I will be getting quots from both next time I need a/c work. Good luck, no matter how much you spend it wont come with a stearing wheel or handelbars.

Ditto Allison.

He's our landlord at the Surf Shop and put in the unit in my home. We've used him at our t-shirt plant for electrical work too.

He spent a few years on the North Shore when he was younger. Good surfer too.

Sounds like the Daves will be at the top of the list. I need to figure out if I'm going to do this now before peak season or Nov at the end of the season. The fed tax credit is good through 2010, but the next deal for appliance rebates is April.

April 16-25 there will be rebates for Energy Star upgrades. Dishwashers, Fridge, Washer/Dryer 20% rebate from the state. And like Cash for Clunkers another $75 if you have it recycled.

Check it out here!

From your link... Corrected Link

Which appliances qualify for theENERGY STAR Appliance Rebate Program?

Florida will offer rebates on the following ENERGY STAR appliances: (1) Refrigerators, (2) Freezers, (3) Washing machines, (4) Dishwashers, (5) Room air conditioners, and (6) Gas tank-less hot water heaters. These six appliances were selected because they offer consumers in the state the largest energy and water savings and there are no other state rebate programs on these particular appliances.

So, what is a "room air conditioner" ????

A window unit or does a whole-house / central air conditioning unit qualify under this program????

Look on energystar.gov...there you will find the info on a whole house system. A new central air unit qualifies for 30% tax credit, for a total of up to $1500 to upgrade.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. Going to have MAstro give me a quote tomorrow. They were at least quick to schedule somebody.

Zombie thread Warning!

My outside unit's condenser aluminum fins are starting to rot. Unit works fine and will probably get another season out of it safely but want to start AC contractor shopping to see who does good work and who is reliable for new system installs.

So, any A/C contractor recommendations?

Thanks!

Dav My-Stroh royally screwed up our ductwork on a reinstall, 60% miscalculated the 5 ton air handler duct - necking it down to 12x12, I found an HVAC-dummy guide online and it clearly showed their mistakes - they argued they are the pros - and then their backup guy walks in and says - yup, the homeonwner is right. Caused a leak in our site glass that leaked all the freon out and burned up our compressor. Now their octopus R6 (way under-insultated for Florida) ductwork sounds like a wind tunnel when AC kicks on and blows hot for the first minute. Just paid a $571 FLP bill - so might factor that into your AC pro installer decision making matrix.

We used Able Air for a complete new system and ductwork. They did a really good job and any time we've had a little problem here or there they've come out to fix it under warranty right away. They even redid duct lines to a room due to my wife noticing it was 1-2 degrees warmer, no questions asked.
