I was out at Playa El Rey in the 90's. Sweet clean lefts and rights pealing down the beach for what seemed like miles. The walk back got pretty hot with no shade. I found a spot with a tree over hangin the sand and stopped to cool down before paddling back out. A dog came and sat next to me. A Tico walk by and stopped for some shade. He asked, "Tu perro muerde?" (Does your dog bite?) I said no, and as he started reaching for it, I said quickly, as the dog showed it's teeth, "Pero, no es mi perro." (But that's not my dog!) "Muy Comico." the guy said giving me stink eye as he left.
