The Navy says she jogs north. Regardless, time to get ready.

That model spread is crazy. Looks like Tybee, Charleston, Hatteras have the most to worry about with some clustering in those sectors. Model consensus has had upper SC coast under the gun since the outset but that is still with an unusual amount of uncertainty. I think the eventual steering pattern with be discernible by Sunday.

Euopean model, reported at Washington Post, has Florence on a more westerly track than GFS. In other words, odds of hitting land are looking quite high, but no good idea of where, except not too likely to be Florida.
Its move west is an oddity--it hit the Jet Stream, lost intensity, which meant that it was steered by lower-level winds, which moved it more west and less north. Now, it's getting toward a huge patch of super-warm water and is expected to go up to category 4.

Go here and click the loop button for "Significant Wave Height and Direction". It's like science fiction at the end of the run: Text

Anybody have recommendations of sites where I can find some good hurricane track predictor charts- like cone images and model charts?

I have the NOAA site, but their cone image lacks some details

Weather Underground's site and charts have really gone downhill this past year.

Dont know any other sites that post these charts- any suggestions are appreciated

actually the Cat 6 blog on weatherunderground is very good. The guy who hosts it used to fly in a hurricane hunter. and there are some SERIOUS weather nerds that post on there

thanks plan b- but what im looking for are good cone charts and model charts- the WU ones used to be really good- but the chart quality has gone down there as of late- the site barely works on mobile too :/

those used to be the charts I really watched, but for some reason theyve gone to a new system- just not as good as they used to be.

right now, I'm really only finding the noaa ones- and also the model charts on weathernerds. just wondering if there are any other sites out there that make cone charts, etc

Seems the models at weathernerds.org have trended a bit northward.

The ECMWF is still kinda scarey, but it has moved a bit north on the latest run.

The GFS is now aiming more at North Carolina with barely anything even pointing at South Carolina.

Some potential HMMMMM.... worthy weather events that most models are currently in agreement on in the not-so-distant future. We'll see
