I was right.

Not sure what internal damage u have on your finger, but don't rush back too soon. I had a friend who got attacked by a shark (262 stitches) and he rushed back too quickly. He caused so much further damage all to make sure he didn't miss a good swell. He regretted it afterwards.

Yea, I'm not going to take any chances, there will always be more waves. Plus it's a valid excuse to not take 300 waves on the head each paddle out during the swell. I can legitimately be lazy for once.

A cousin of a friend recently got his leg wet a bit early after melanoma surgery.  It got infected, went septic, leg had to be amputated.  Life in doubt.  

I'm getting queasy about wounds.
