The inside section of the pier was broken up by hurricane Cleo in '64. In about '70, a friend had the unfortunate experience of meeting one of the broken pilings with his brand spanking new G&S twin fin. (He was on a nice right and it sucked up right in front of him exposing the previously unexposed piling.) Made quite a mess of his board's nose. I remember trying to get down those concrete slabs (before the steps). It was even harder getting up with a long board after a session; wet, tired feet and a heavy assed longboard made it very difficult to get up the parking lot.

Trying walking across those monoliths of death in Churchill Makapuus. I definitely remember them sponging in the late 80's. And it can't just be a thing of age. I am convinced the waves were better and maybe 'more often' back in the 80's and 90's.
Oh yeah and I miss neon! ------------------------- Brother, when you get a minute, could I get a list of the words that trigger these fits? Hey. Where are we going? (And what are we doing in a hand-basket?) |

Always wondered. Remember the walk or climb down and back up. Sketchy! |

I miss the left that used to sweep across the rock garden to the north.
------------------------- I was right. |
