Looking for a 3 year old and want to have a succsessful learner but dont want to break the bank. Anyone have experience with the odysea stump with the little ones? Or if you had a great success could you post brand/model etc. Already had a casualty with fiberglass board. Thanks for any info |

My buddies who surf really good, love to ride that wavestorm from costco. From what I understand the board rides really good. Plus it's $149. |

He's 3. He just needs something that floats. Buy him a cheap one and let him charge and trash it...... they ALL fall apart, but the cheap ones definitely do it quicker. but by that time, he'll be ready for a real board |

I picked up a 6'6" Softech from a very generous fella here,(still owe ya a bIG Guiness) and can not get off of it! It is SO much fun in summer shorey, catches everything, early, and actually garners speed! I've fallen on that thing so many times in awkward posi's without a scratch where you'da been play'in taps long ago with anything else in da quiv we gots. Gracias again Mate!, and duude, pick one up for the young'in and no worries~~ gittumsum! ------------------------- ola ~ |

I have a costco softop 'california board company' fishy shape around 5'8" and it works great for the kiddos. super durable and floaty. I've even took it out sometimes for kicks.

I bought a odysea stump for my "kid" at least thats what I told my wife when I came home with it. I am 6'4 185 and it floats me great and is so much fun to surf. I have the one with the removeable FCS fins and that makes a huge difference when your talking about a soft top Honestly I think its the best thing that I have done for my surfing and I am sure that my kid is going to love it if he can get it away from me. |

Costco is your friend there. Those $99 boards work good and are fun to ride for young and old. They also sometimes have a shorter fishi board called Sushi or something that looks like a shortboard that might offer more performance for the little guys. |

Heard on another forum that these improve the performance of the wavestorm.

GSI (GlobalSurfIndustries) makes good foamboards. Search "Gnaraloo" under GSI |

I bought a 8' soft top from Sam's Club for $80. Rode it twice then God thought I was being greedy and shut down the waves to my section of the beach.

My boys have outgrown the Catch Surf Beater I got them. It's in good shape, I was gonna put it on the for sale forum for $100 if you're interested.

ron jon is selling some really nice 6 ft spongers today for 75$. they are a testing ground for these board makers cuz they go through a shitload of them, at all their locations. not walmart or costco, battle tested boards. i'v repaired a ton of them for their school and rental folks. go grab one bro, they wont last long ------------------------- It's a democratic hoax |

wavestorm from Costco is the best soft board I have ever ridden. I picked one to teach my 6 year old for $99. He loves it and I have taken it out in every thing from 1' -5'. He is 4' tall and I am 6'.
