When a false sense of security gizmatron is the source of your peace of mind, it becomes even more dangerous than being aware that sharks are always in the water and proceeding with activity accordingly.

You need to read the reply from Sharkbanz in the comments below the video. They claim that was not a valid test. The Sharkbanz has to be moving to create the magnetic field and the deterrent effect.

So when you see the shark coming to get you, flap that leg vigorously before he gets there!

Actually, as bad as a bleeding femoral artery can be, I'd be more worried about major organs around my gut, and not sure how to make those parts move, other than the beer-gut jiggly-wiggly, or shivering on a cold day.

 Bro I'm from florida and was diving yesterday with a buddy who was wearing one of these things. I swear on my daughters lives I watched that very same guy spear a nice hogfish. He hadn't yet noticed the 7' + Reef Shark that came in just before he pulled the trigger. Seconds after the shark rushed in from right behind him blowing by him turning right before deciding not to take his fish. After that the shark circled him within inches as if he was wearing nothing!!! Later on the boat I had asked him what that thing was, I thought it was a heart rate monitor connected to his freedive watch, cause I can tell you first hand THE SHARK GAVE ZERO FUCKS ABOUT THAT THING!

Pretty sure he was in motion...

seems we have one anecdotal experience (CERTON's video) vs another (SharkBanz video). 

 

Now I don't know what to believe. We need more science.
